Choncc Kench

First game I played with Choncc Kench I genuinely laughed out loud loading into the Rift. Not sure if it’s just me but there’s something about turning Tahm Kench into the little round TFT mascot that just works. The proportions, the face, the whole vibe. Riot leaned into the meme and it landed. Been running this as my default Tahm Kench skin since I picked it up, and honestly it gets reactions in champ select every single time.

What Choncc Kench actually looks like in game

So the concept here is pretty straightforward. Tahm Kench is dressed up as Choncc from Teamfight Tactics. Big round body, that signature Choncc expression, the whole package. The model swap is where the money is on this one. Tahm Kench already has that chunky silhouette so the Choncc overlay fits naturally without looking forced.

No new VFX on this Epic tier skin. Base voice lines, no changes. Thats the one thing that holds it back a little. The Q tongue lash and W devour animations use the standard Tahm Kench particles, which feels like a missed opportunity. Could be wrong here but I think even recolored ability effects would have pushed this from “fun novelty” to “must-have.” The auto attacks and passive stacks all read the same as default too.

The recall animation stays base as well. For an Epic skin with no particle work, the model has to carry everything. And honestly? It does. The splash captures the energy perfectly. Tahm Kench sitting there with that Choncc grin, looking like he just ate your entire jungle clear and doesnt care. Played maybe 30 games with this thing in Diamond last month and the in-game model reads clean. You can still track abilities in teamfights without confusion, which matters more than people think when you’re trying to peel for your ADC.

(Random aside: my duo partner who plays nothing but TFT recognized it immediately and now wants to try Tahm Kench support. Mission accomplished I guess.)

The Superfans line and where Choncc Kench fits

Choncc Kench is part of the Superfans skinline. The whole concept is champions cosplaying as iconic League mascots and TFT characters. Cute theme. Riot’s been doing more crossover stuff between their games and the Superfans set is one of the better executions. It doesnt take itself seriously and thats the point.

No splash artist credited in the data I have. Shop has it as a permanent option so you can grab it whenever. Voice pack is base only, same VO as default Tahm Kench. For the Superfans line specifically this skin leans harder into the humor angle than some of the others in the set.

8 chromas total if you want variety. Obsidian goes full dark mode which honestly looks cleaner than the base version in certain lighting on Summoner’s Rift. Amethyst hits a purple tone that reads well against the green of bot lane bushes. Sandstone has this washed-out desert vibe that I wasnt expecting to like but it grew on me after a few games last Wednesday around midnight. The rest are solid but those three stood out to me personally.

Should you buy Choncc Kench?

Real verdict: this is a novelty skin that actually holds up in ranked. Epic tier pricing feels fair for what you get, even without new VFX or voice lines. The model work does the heavy lifting and it does it well. Kinda feels like Riot knew the Choncc design would sell itself.

If you main Tahm Kench and you play TFT at all this is a no-brainer. Lock it in. For Tahm Kench one-tricks who dont care about the TFT crossover, there’s better options with more ability changes. Coin Emperor and Arcana both offer more on the VFX side. But for pure personality? Choncc Kench wins. Been spamming this in my Diamond games this season when I get support and need engage or peel. The skin just makes the champion more fun to pilot, which sounds dumb but it matters when you’re grinding ranked at 2 AM on a Tuesday and your bot lane is running it down.
