Trundle

Trundle Skins

8 skins available

Trundle is one of those champions where the skin catalog tells you exactly how Riot feels about him. Eight skins across fourteen years. Not bad, not great. Been playing Trundle on and off since season 3, mostly as a jungle counterpick into heavy tank comps, and I've cycled through most of his skins at this point. Some hit harder than you'd expect for a troll with a club. Others feel like Riot checked a box and moved on. The collection is small enough that you can realistically own all of them, but honestly you only need two or three to cover every mood.

How Trundle's Skin Collection Shaped Up Over the Years

Eight skins spanning from 2010 to 2024. For a champion thats been in the game since before most current players started, that number feels low. Compare him to someone like Lux or Ezreal and you see where Riot's priorities sit. Trundle gets a skin every couple years if he's lucky.

The tier breakdown is pretty telling. Five Standard skins and three Epics. No Legendary. No Mythic. No Prestige. Nothing above 1350 RP in the entire catalog. Could be wrong here but I think Trundle might be one of the older champions with the least premium investment from Riot's skin team. That said, there's something honest about it. You're not paying 1820 for a skin that'll collect dust.

His earliest skins dropped in 2010 with Lil' Slugger and Junkyard. Both are relics from an era where "skin" meant "different colored model with maybe a hat." Traditional Trundle came later as a nod to his pre-rework appearance, which is a weird time capsule if you remember old Trundle. Constable showed up for the Cops and Robbers line. Worldbreaker gave him the Mesoamerican treatment. Then Dragonslayer in the Dragon World line actually tried to make him look cool.

The real shift happened with Fright Night Trundle. Riot finally gave him a skin with modern production quality and a theme that fits his vibe perfectly. Creepy troll doing creepy things. Makes sense. Then Esports Fan dropped in 2024 as part of the Superfans line, which is fun but niche.

Fourteen years, eight skins. Roughly one every 1.75 years on average. Not gonna lie, Trundle mains have been patient. (sidebar: if you've been a Trundle one-trick since 2010, you deserve a medal and probably therapy)

Best Skins for Trundle

Dragonslayer Trundle sits at the top for me. Locked this one in for probably 150 ranked games across season 12 and 13. The 1350 RP price tag is standard Epic fare but the skin earns it. His Q pillar slam gets this satisfying dragon-flame effect, the W domain looks like scorched earth, and the E pillar has draconic textures that actually read well in teamfights. The R drain animation is the highlight though. Feels menacing in a way base Trundle never does.

Fright Night Trundle is the other must-own. Released in 2022, this one leans into horror and it works. The model redesign turns his club into something out of a haunted carnival. His pillar on E looks grotesque in the best way. Spammed this in Diamond last split and the number of people who pinged my skin in champ select was funny. The recall animation alone justifies the 1350 RP. Riot's Fright Night line is genuinely one of their better thematic sets and Trundle fits it like a glove.

Esports Fan Trundle is the newest addition from 2024. Part of the Superfans skinline. Kinda feels like a meme skin but in practice its actually clean. He's got a foam finger, team gear, the whole sports fan aesthetic. Not what you'd expect on a troll champion but that contrast is what makes it work. Another 1350 RP Epic. The ability VFX lean into the sports theme without being too distracting in lane.

Junkyard Trundle deserves a mention even at 750 RP. Old skin, minimal changes, but the junkyard aesthetic with the stop-sign club is iconic. Been around since 2010 and still holds up purely on concept. No new particles or anything, just a solid model swap from an era when that was enough.

Lil' Slugger at 520 RP is the budget king. Baseball Trundle. Simple. Clean. The bat-as-club swap is clever and the baseball uniform actually reads well on his model. For a Standard tier skin from 2010, it punches way above its weight class.

Skinlines and Where Trundle Fits

Trundle appears across eight different skinlines which is kind of wild for a champion with only eight skins. One skin per line, no repeats. Day Job gets Lil' Slugger, Road Warrior takes Junkyard, Traditional is its own thing, Cops and Robbers has Constable, Worldbreaker is the Mesoamerican fantasy, Dragon World holds Dragonslayer, Fright Night is the horror line, and Superfans claimed Esports Fan.

Thematically, Fright Night is the best fit. Full stop. Trundle is a troll. He's grotesque by design. A horror skinline lets him lean into that instead of fighting against it. Not sure if it's just me but I always thought the "cute" or "fun" skins on monstrous champions feel slightly off. Lil' Slugger works because baseball is inherently goofy. Constable works because a cop troll is funny. But when you want Trundle to actually feel powerful and intimidating, Fright Night and Dragonslayer are where its at.

Worldbreaker Trundle is the odd one out for me. The Mesoamerican aesthetic is cool in theory but on Trundle specifically it doesn't pop the way it does on Nasus or Tryndamere. Played maybe 30 games with it back in season 9 I think and kept switching back. The color palette blends into Summoner's Rift too much. (random aside: Worldbreaker skins in general feel like they needed one more pass on visual clarity)

The Dragon World line gave Trundle his most "cool" skin. Dragonslayer turns him from swamp troll into dragon-slaying warrior and the fantasy shift is dramatic enough to feel like a different champion. Real talk though, if Riot ever revisits Trundle for a Legendary, Dragon World or Fright Night would be the obvious lines to expand.

Budget Picks vs Premium Options

Here's the thing with Trundle. His most expensive skins are 1350 RP. There is no premium tier. No Legendary, no Ultimate, nothing. So the "budget vs premium" conversation is really "520 RP vs 1350 RP" which is a much smaller gap than most champions.

If you want the best value, Lil' Slugger at 520 RP is hard to beat. Baseball troll. Good model. No new particles but honestly the base particles work fine with the skin. For the price of a large coffee you get a skin that still looks decent in 2026.

Junkyard at 750 RP is the mid-range option. Slightly more detailed model, the junkyard theme gives him character, and the stop-sign club is genuinely iconic in the Trundle community. Such as it is.

At the top end you've got three Epics all at 1350. Dragonslayer, Fright Night, and Esports Fan. All three have new VFX and updated models. My recommendation for someone who wants exactly one Trundle skin: Fright Night if you want menacing, Dragonslayer if you want cool, Esports Fan if you want funny. Can't go wrong with any of them. 1350 feels fair for what you get on all three. Maybe just my experience but Fright Night gets the most compliments in lobby.

Been daily driving Dragonslayer this season and switching to Fright Night for late night ranked sessions around 1 AM when the vibe calls for it. Dont need more than that.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Trundle have?

Trundle has 8 skins total as of 2024. Five Standard tier and three Epic tier. Decent collection for a champion who's been around since 2010, though definitely on the smaller side compared to popular picks. No Legendary or higher, which feels like a missed opportunity honestly. The catalog covers a good range of themes from baseball to dragons to horror.

What is the best Trundle skin?

Dragonslayer Trundle or Fright Night Trundle depending on what you want. Dragonslayer has the coolest VFX and makes him feel powerful. Fright Night leans into horror and fits his troll fantasy better. Both are 1350 RP Epics. Played both extensively in ranked and they're close. Fright Night edges it for me personally but its a coin flip.

What is the cheapest Trundle skin?

Lil' Slugger Trundle at 520 RP. Baseball theme, simple model swap, no new particles. Still looks solid for the price. The bat club is a nice touch and the uniform reads clean on his model. Best budget option if you main Trundle but dont want to drop 1350 on an Epic.

Does Trundle have a Legendary skin?

Nope. No Legendary, no Mythic, no Ultimate. Trundle's most expensive skins are 1350 RP Epics. Been waiting for years honestly. He's a prime candidate for a Legendary with new voice lines and animations. The base VO is showing its age. Maybe someday Riot gives him the treatment but not holding my breath.

What skinlines is Trundle in?

Eight skinlines total: Day Job, Road Warrior, Traditional, Cops and Robbers, Worldbreaker, Dragon World, Fright Night, and Superfans. One skin per line so there's good variety. Fright Night and Dragon World are the standouts thematically. Traditional is a nod to his pre-rework model which is cool for OG players.

Does Trundle have chromas?

Some of his newer Epic skins have chromas available. Dragonslayer and Fright Night both got chroma sets. If you pick up one of those skins, the chromas add decent variety for cheap. The base colorways on both are strong though so chromas are optional. Nice to have, not essential.

When was Trundle's last skin released?

Esports Fan Trundle dropped in 2024 as part of the Superfans skinline. Sports fan theme with foam finger and team gear. Fun concept. Before that was Fright Night in 2022, so roughly a two year gap between releases. Pretty standard for a champion with Trundle's pick rate in solo queue.

Is Trundle worth buying skins for?

If you main him, absolutely. Trundle is one of those champions who feels way better with a skin. Base model is dated and the Epic skins genuinely improve the gameplay experience with cleaner VFX. Fright Night or Dragonslayer at 1350 RP each are solid investments. Even Lil' Slugger at 520 makes him more fun to play. Worth it for jungle mains who pull him out regularly.
