Victorious Orianna

Been maining Orianna on and off since season 4, and when Riot announced her as the 2018 Victorious skin I remember sitting in my chair at like 1 AM thinking finally. She deserved it. Orianna was the mid lane staple for years, the safe blind pick, the teamfight queen. Getting that Gold border and this skin felt earned. Not gonna lie, loading into my first game with it was a good moment.

The Royal Treatment on the Ball

Victorious Orianna leans hard into that regal blue and gold palette the Victorious line is known for. The Ball gets the biggest glow-up here. It floats with this polished golden frame and blue energy core that reads clean against the Rift. Her model swaps the clockwork aesthetic for armored plating with gold trim, and it works. Crown on her head. Elegant posture. She looks like she belongs on a throne.

The VFX got updated which surprised me for what’s technically a Standard tier skin. Her Q sends the Ball out with trailing blue particles, and the W pulse has this satisfying burst of light. Could be wrong here but I think the E shield shimmer is slightly different too, more golden than the base version. The R shockwave keeps that blue energy signature and honestly its clean enough for ranked.

Recall animation is custom. She does this commanding pose with the Ball orbiting around her. Short and sweet. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but that’s expected for a Victorious skin. The base Orianna voice fits the dignified theme anyway so no complaints there.

Season 8 Ranked Reward and the Victorious Legacy

Released November 21, 2018, right at the end of season 8. Jessica ‘OwleyCat’ Oyhenart nailed the splash. The composition puts Orianna front and center with the Ball glowing behind her, very commanding energy. The Victorious skinline has been running since Jarvan IV back in season 1, and Orianna joining that roster made sense. She was pick-or-ban in pro play for most of that year.

Two chromas came with the ranked tiers. Amber for Platinum players, Peridot for Diamond and above. The Amber chroma swaps to red and gold tones which I think actually looks sharper than the base blue. Peridot goes green and gold, kinda gives emerald royalty vibes. (Random aside: I hit Diamond that season specifically because I wanted the Peridot chroma and it lives rent-free in my skin rotation.)

This is a ranked reward skin so theres no RP price tag. You cant buy it. Legacy vault skin now, loot eligible if you’re lucky with Hextech crafting. Seen maybe two of these in my games all of last season. Most Orianna players run Dark Star or Winter Wonder instead, which makes rocking Victorious feel exclusive.

Should You Care About Victorious Orianna?

Real verdict: it’s a solid skin that you either have or you dont. No shop availability means you can’t just pick it up on a whim. If you earned it back in season 8, keep it in rotation. The VFX are clean, the model holds up, and the exclusivity factor is real. In my Diamond games last Tuesday I got complimented on it twice which never happens with common skins.

For Orianna mains who missed season 8, tough luck. You’re stuck hoping for a Hextech drop. The skin itself sits comfortably in mid-tier for Orianna cosmetics. Not her best, Dark Star probably takes that crown, but the prestige of a Victorious skin carries weight. S-tier flex for anyone who was grinding ranked back then. The Peridot chroma especially hits different when you lock in Orianna and your team sees you been playing this champ at a high level for years.
