Snowstorm Sivir

First time I saw Snowstorm Sivir in loading screen I thought it was a custom skin someone modded in. The ice blade, the frosted armor, the whole frozen warrior thing. Played maybe 40 games with it over that first winter and it stuck with me. Not every 975 RP skin earns a permanent spot in rotation but this one did for a while.

What Snowstorm Sivir actually brings

The boomerang blade gets a full ice makeover. Her Q flies out with this sharp crystalline trail that reads clean against the Rift, especially on the green grass sections of bot lane. W ricochet hits carry a frost particle on each bounce. Subtle change but you notice it in teamfights when the blade is bouncing through their backline. Spell shield on E keeps the ice aesthetic going with a cool barrier effect.

Not gonna lie, the recall animation is the highlight for me. Sivir does this ice skating spin thing that feels smooth. For a Standard tier skin at 975 RP thats a nice touch. Most skins in this price range dont bother with a custom recall so Riot went a bit above expectations here.

Voice lines stay base. Alexa Kahn’s original VO, no filter, no new lines. Fine for this price point honestly. The model swap itself is solid – Sivir gets this armored ice queen look with a blade that actually looks like it could shatter on impact. Been running this in ARAM specifically because the winter map aesthetic matches perfectly (random aside: ARAM with a full winter skin comp is peak vibes).

The Winter Wonder line and release context

Snowstorm Sivir dropped December 19, 2013. Right before the holidays, season 3 into preseason 4 I think. Part of the Winter Wonder skinline which Riot has expanded a lot since then. Soraka, Neeko, Lulu all got Winter Wonder skins later. Sivir’s entry holds up.

Michelle Hoefener nailed the splash. The pose captures Sivir mid-throw with ice particles everywhere and this blue-white palette that pops. One of the cleaner splashes from that era.

There’s 1 chroma available – Golden. It swaps the ice blue for a warm gold tone which honestly feels like it fights the winter theme. Could be wrong here but I think the base version reads better. The gold works if you want something different but the blue is the whole point of a snowstorm skin.

Legacy vault skin so you cant just grab it from the shop whenever. Gotta wait for the winter event rotation or get lucky with Hextech crafting. Seen maybe 2 of these in my Diamond games all season. Most Sivir mains I run into are locking in Odyssey or Pizza Delivery instead.

Is 975 RP fair for Snowstorm Sivir?

Straight talk: for what you get at 975 RP this skin delivers. New VFX on abilities, custom recall, clean model. No new VO but that’s standard pricing, nothing special. The ice effects on Q and W actually help with gameplay clarity in a weird way – I can track the boomerang return easier with the frost trail, especially during chaotic late-game fights around dragon pit.

If you main Sivir and you like the winter aesthetic, 975 RP feels fair for what you get. The Legacy availability is the real barrier. Last Tuesday I checked the shop rotation and it wasnt there, so you might be waiting until next Snowdown or whenever Riot decides to crack open the vault again. Might be overthinking it but I’d say this sits mid-tier in Sivir’s skin catalog. Not her best – Odyssey and Pizza Delivery are stronger packages – but solid for the price and the seasonal flavor. Worth picking up if it rotates back in, skip if you already own one of her Epic or higher skins. The Golden chroma is take it or leave it.
