First time I saw Renektoy load in on the enemy team I genuinely thought my client bugged out. A bright green plastic dinosaur with wind-up keys stomping down top lane. Took me a second to realize thats Renekton. Been running this skin on and off since season 7 and it still catches people off guard in champ select. Something about a toy croc diving your backline at level 6 just hits different.

What the Toy Box treatment does to Renekton

This is a Standard tier skin at 750 RP so keep expectations in check. No new VFX, no new animations, voice lines stay base. What you get is a full model swap that turns Renekton into a plastic wind-up toy. Bright molded plastic body, visible seam lines on the limbs, and that giant key sticking out of his back. Simple change – huge impact on how the champion reads in game.

The color palette leans into primary greens and yellows. Kinda feels like someone pulled him straight out of a toy chest from the 90s. His blade becomes this oversized plastic sword thing that looks like it could snap in half, which is funny considering how hard Renekton hits in lane pre-6. Not gonna lie, watching this toy dinosaur chunk half your health bar with an empowered W is comedy. The model quality holds up surprisingly well for a 750 RP skin from 2017.

(Random aside: my duo partner refuses to play with me when I use this skin because he says the green model blends into the Rift bushes and he loses track of me in teamfights. Could be wrong here but I think he might be onto something.)

The Toy Box skinline and chromas

Renektoy dropped March 29, 2017. Part of the Toy Box line alongside skins like Pug’Maw and Super Kennen from the same era of playful Riot releases. Pan Chengwei handled the artwork, and the splash captures the whole plastic toy vibe perfectly with that packaging box background.

7 chromas total which is generous for a 750 RP skin. Obsidian turns the whole toy dark and menacing, basically an action figure villain variant. Amethyst gives him this purple Rex from Toy Story energy that I think reads cleaner than the base green. Rose Quartz exists too but honestly I played maybe 15 games with it last season and the pink plastic dinosaur look wasnt for me. Most of the others are fine but those two stand out.

Shop has it. Permanent availability so no vault anxiety. Been there since 2017, probably staying forever.

Should you buy Renektoy?

Real verdict: for 750 RP this is one of the more creative Standard skins in the game. You know what surprised me? How much personality the model swap alone adds. No fancy particles, no new VO, just a plastic dinosaur with a wind-up key going full aggro in your lane. Last Tuesday I played three ranked games in a row with it and every single lobby someone commented on the skin.

If you main Renekton and want something lighthearted between your Bloodfury and Pool Party rotations, Renektoy fills that slot. 750 RP feels fair for what you get. Skip it if you need flashy VFX on your skins because this one is pure model work. But for Renekton one-tricks who been grinding top lane for years, having a toy dinosaur in your collection just makes the cs grind more bearable. Solid pickup, no regrets from me after spamming it across two seasons of Diamond.
