First time I saw Bloodfury Renekton in a loading screen was back in like season 2 or 3 and I remember thinking this croc looked genuinely angry. Not the usual green Renekton rage. Something different. The red and black palette shift hit hard for 2011 standards and honestly it still holds up better than some skins that came out years later. Not gonna lie, I have a soft spot for this one even after all the newer Renekton options dropped.

The visual overhaul on Bloodfury

So Bloodfury Renekton swaps out the default green scales for this deep crimson and dark grey color scheme. Think demonic butcher vibes. The blade gets a full recolor too, dark red edge that reads really well in lane when you’re trading. For a 975 RP Standard tier skin the texture work is solid. You get updated VFX on the abilities which was actually rare for skins at this price point back in 2011.

The Q slice has this red energy sweep that feels heavier than base. Could be wrong here but the W stun particles also look slightly different, more blood-toned. His ult Dominus form goes full demon mode with the red aura expanding around him. Playing this skin, the fury bar visually matches the theme way better than default. Base voice lines, no changes there. Patrick Seitz still does the VO and it works fine with the angry aesthetic.

No new recall animation obviously, this is 2011 we’re talking about. Pre-recall-animation era. But the in-game model itself is clean. The armor pieces have these bone-like protrusions and the overall silhouette reads slightly bulkier. In teamfights the red stands out against the Rift which is actually useful for tracking your character during a dive. Been running this in my Diamond games last week specifically and the visual clarity is surprisingly good for how old this skin is.

Bloodstone line and release context

Bloodfury Renekton released July 26, 2011. Early League days. Part of the Bloodstone skinline which Riot kind of abandoned after a while. Bloodstone Taric and Bloodstone Lissandra sit in the same line. The theme across all of them is this corrupted red crystal energy aesthetic. Renekton fits it naturally because he’s already this rage-fueled croc and the Bloodstone corruption just amplifies that.

975 RP for a skin with VFX updates. No chromas available for this one. Kinda feels like Riot forgot about it when they started doing chroma batches for older skins. Still in the shop though, permanent availability. For context thats the same price as some skins that literally only change the model color and nothing else, so getting VFX here is a nice bonus.

Should you pick up Bloodfury Renekton

Real verdict: if you main Renekton and you want something that looks mean without spending 1350 or 1820 RP, Bloodfury is a strong budget pick. I think it’s underrated honestly. The red theme is executed well and the VFX additions carry a lot of weight for a Standard skin. (Random aside: I used this as my default Renekton skin for two whole seasons before switching to Blackfrost and I kept coming back.)

The competition is tough though. Renekton has some absolute bangers in his skin catalog. Pool Party is fun, Blackfrost is premium, Project is flashy. But none of those are 975 RP. If you’re climbing ranked on a budget and you want your top lane croc to look intimidating in the bot lane roams and ganking mid post-6, Bloodfury does the job. Worth 975 RP if you main Renekton. Skip it if you already own one of his Legendary or Epic options though, the gap in features is real. Solid skin for the price, been around since season 1 era, and I think around maybe 1 in 15 Renekton players I see in my games last Tuesday still rock it. Respect to them.
