Pool Party Sett

First game I played with Pool Party Sett was a late night ranked session, maybe 1 AM on a Wednesday. Locked him in top lane against a Darius and honestly the skin just felt right. Sett already has that brawler energy baked into his kit, and slapping people with pool noodles and water balloons somehow makes the W slam even more satisfying. Been running this since it dropped in June 2021 and I keep coming back to it over his other options.

What Pool Party Sett actually changes

So this is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, which means new VFX and a new recall animation but no fresh voice lines. Voice stays default. Thats fine because Sett’s base VO already carries enough personality for three champions.

The model swap puts Sett in board shorts and flip flops with a life preserver ring around his waist. His fists get wrapped in pool noodles. Sounds goofy on paper but in game it reads clean. The Q empowered autos leave little splash effects on the ground. W is the big one here: the Haymaker grit zone gets this water explosion effect that honestly looks better than some Legendary VFX I’ve seen. The true damage center line pops with this bright aqua burst.

E pulls enemies in with water trails. Not super noticeable in a teamfight but you catch it in lane. R is where the skin shines though. The suplex sends up a massive splash on impact, like cannonballing into a pool from the top rope. Played maybe 40 games in a row one weekend just to spam the ult in different scenarios. Dunking their ADC into my team never gets old.

The recall animation has Sett doing a strongman pose with a beach umbrella. Quick and clean. (Random aside: my duo partner bought this skin purely because of the recall and doesn’t even play Sett.)

Pool Party line and the splash

Pool Party is one of Riot’s longest running skinlines at this point. They’ve done it for basically every popular champion. Sett fits naturally into the theme because his whole deal is punching things, and the summer brawler angle works without forcing it.

Released June 9, 2021. Mid season 11 if I remember right. Ina Wong and West Studio handled the artwork, and they nailed the splash. Sett looks like he’s about to start a fight at a beach party, which is exactly what you want from a Pool Party Sett splash.

8 chromas total. Could be wrong here but I think Obsidian is the best pick if you want something that reads darker on the Rift. The deep black shorts and darker water effects give it an edge the base skin doesn’t have. Aquamarine leans into the ocean vibe harder, pairs well with the water VFX. Pearl is clean if you want something lighter but kinda feels like it washes out on certain maps. The rest are fine but those three are the ones worth looking at specifically.

Is Pool Party Sett worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you main Sett or even just have him in your top lane rotation, this is a strong pickup. The VFX on W and R alone justify the price. Not sure if it’s just me but the auto attacks feel smoother with this skin. Could be placebo, probably is, but I’ve seen other Sett mains say the same thing on Reddit.

For 1350 RP you get solid VFX across all abilities, a fun recall, and a model that doesn’t look ridiculous in loading screen. Shop has it permanently so no rush. Compared to Mecha Kingdoms or Obsidian Dragon, Pool Party trades the serious aesthetic for something lighter. I switch between this and Spirit Blossom depending on mood but Pool Party gets more games from me in Diamond this season.

Skip it if you need every Sett skin to feel intimidating. Pick it up if you want your Haymaker to literally make a splash. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get, and the chromas give it longevity. Been daily driving this for months and I dont see that changing anytime soon.
