First time I saw the HEARTSTEEL Sett splash I thought Riot finally figured out what Sett mains actually want. Not another dragon theme, not another edgy dark skin. Just a dude who punches people, but now he’s in a boy band and looks like he walked off a magazine cover. Been running this in Diamond since around patch 13.22 and the reactions in lobby are always the same. People either love it or they hit you with the question mark ping.

What actually changes on HEARTSTEEL Sett

The VFX overhaul is where this skin earns its keep. Sett’s Q empowered autos get these clean musical note particles, pink and teal energy that pops against the Rift. His W is the star here. Full grit Haymaker sends out this burst of concert-stage energy, kinda feels like a bass drop translated into particle effects. Honestly not gonna lie, the W animation made me hold grit longer than I should in a couple teamfights just because it looks that good.

E pulls enemies in with these stylized sound wave effects. Nothing groundbreaking but it reads well in lane. R is solid too, the suplex slam leaves a musical impact zone on the ground. Not as dramatic as Spirit Blossom Sett’s ult visuals but it fits the theme perfectly.

New recall animation. Sett pulls out a microphone stand and does this whole performance routine. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is fine because Xander Mobus already gave Sett one of the best base voice packs in the game. The outfit itself goes hard. White and pink jacket, styled hair, the whole K-pop idol look without being too over the top. Simple change – huge impact on how the champion reads in game.

The HEARTSTEEL line and release context

HEARTSTEEL Sett dropped November 8, 2023. Late season 13. The HEARTSTEEL skinline was Riot’s second music group push after K/DA and True Damage, and I think Sett fits better here than half the other picks. Bo ‘chenbowow’ Chen, Julia Yurtsev, and Jennifer Wuestling handled the splash artwork. Three artists on one splash and you can tell, the composition is busy in a good way.

The HEARTSTEEL lineup includes Kayn, Yone, Aphelios, Ezreal, and K’Sante alongside Sett. Could be wrong here but Sett might be the most natural fit in the group. Dude’s whole personality is about showmanship and punching things. Put him on a stage and it just works.

9 chromas total. Rockstar is the standout, it flips the palette to this icy blue and pink split thats genuinely cleaner than the base. Amethyst goes deep purple which reads well against darker map sections. Catseye gives you a gold and yellow scheme if you want to lean into the idol fantasy harder. I wouldnt bother listing every single one but Pearl exists if you want the whiteout look. Shop has it at 1350 RP, permanent availability.

Worth the 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic tier skin. You know what surprised me? How much the VFX carry the feel in actual ranked games. Last Wednesday I was splitpushing top, full grit W onto their Darius, and the bass drop visual synced perfectly with him dying. (Random aside: I have clipped that play and watched it maybe 15 times.) That kind of moment is what separates a good skin from one that just sits in your collection.

The competition in Sett’s skin pool is real though. Spirit Blossom Sett exists. Pool Party Sett exists. Obsidian Dragon with prestige exists. Been maining Sett with HEARTSTEEL since it dropped and I still swap to Spirit Blossom sometimes for the ult animation alone. But for a different vibe, for when you want to style on people in lane and look clean doing it, HEARTSTEEL delivers.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on every ability, solid recall, great splash, 9 chromas if you want variety. Skip this if you already own Spirit Blossom and dont play Sett enough to justify two skins. But for Sett mains specifically, for anyone who locks in this champ 3 out of 5 games in ranked, it belongs in the rotation. Top pick for Sett mains who want something fresh without going Legendary price.
