Radiant Serpent Sett dropped January 9, 2025 as part of the Modern Mythos skinline and the concept is Sett as a divine serpent warrior. Lejia Chan and Kudos Productions did the splash and the art direction is striking. Gold, jade, serpentine motifs wrapping around this bruiser champion who normally looks like he belongs in a UFC octagon. The contrast between Sett’s brawler identity and this divine aesthetic works way better than it has any right to.
Divine serpent energy on a fist fighter
The model transforms Sett from a street fighter into this radiant warrior figure with serpent-themed armor and flowing garments. The Exalted tier production quality shows in the model details. Scales, golden accents, jade elements integrated into the design. His fists glow with divine energy during combat stance. The idle animation has these subtle serpentine energy coils wrapping around his forearms that react when you enter combat. Standing still in lane and watching the ambient effects on the model is actually mesmerizing. My lane opponents have probably gotten free cs off me in the first few games because I was staring at my own champion model instead of focusing on the wave.
Knuckle Down on Q empowers Sett’s next two autos with serpent-strike effects. Golden trails follow each punch with jade particle bursts on impact. Haymaker on W charges with building divine energy and the true damage center zone has a serpent-themed ground indicator thats distinct from base. The full grit Haymaker release sends out a wave of radiant energy that leaves a momentary golden impact mark on the ground. Landing a max grit W on two or three people in a teamfight is visually spectacular on this skin.
Facebreaker on E pulls enemies from both sides with serpent energy tendrils. The stun effect when both sides connect has a satisfying divine flash. The Show Stopper on R is the highlight though. Sett grabs an enemy, leaps into the air, and slams them down with a massive serpent-themed impact crater. The ground effect on landing is bigger and more elaborate than any other Sett skin. Grabbed their jungler with R during a baron fight last weekend and slammed him into three of his teammates. The Radiant Serpent ground crater covered the entire pit entrance.
Xander Mobus voices Radiant Serpent Sett with a more composed, almost mythical tone. Less trash-talk energy than base Sett, more divine warrior confidence. Still has personality though. The recall summons serpent imagery around Sett in a meditation pose before the teleport. (Random aside: if you spam emotes during the recall the serpent animation gets interrupted and Sett does this thing where he looks confused for a frame. Might be a bug honestly but its funny.)
The auto attack animations on this skin carry way more weight than I expected. Sett is a champion where you spend a lot of time just punching people in lane, and the serpent-strike effects on his basic autos make every trade feel more impactful. The left-right punch pattern has different jade particle trails for each fist, which is a detail I did not notice until maybe my 15th game on the skin. Pre-6 trades in top lane where you walk up, auto Q auto with the empowered punches, then back off with E if they try to trade back – the whole sequence flows with golden serpent energy that makes standard Sett patterns feel elevated.
Kinda feels like the passive regeneration got a visual upgrade too. The Pit Grit passive heals Sett based on missing HP and on Radiant Serpent the regen has a subtle jade glow around his model when its ticking. In those close lane fights where you survive with 100 HP because the passive kicked in, the jade glow tells you exactly why you lived. Had a 1v2 top lane against their Renekton and jungle Elise where I survived purely because of the passive regen ticking between my Haymaker casts. The jade glow pulsing on my model while both of them failed to finish me off was genuinely tilting for them based on the all chat that followed.
Exalted tier and Modern Mythos
Radiant Serpent Sett is Exalted tier with Special pricing. Part of the Modern Mythos skinline. Released January 9, 2025. No chromas. Currently in the shop. Exalted means production quality above standard Legendary with more elaborate VFX and model work throughout. The Modern Mythos skinline itself is a strong thematic concept – champions reimagined as mythological divine warriors. Sett as a serpent deity warrior fits the bruiser fantasy while adding a layer of mythical gravitas that his base streetfighter persona doesn’t have. Feels like Riot looked at Sett’s kit and said “what if every punch carried the weight of a god behind it” and that’s exactly what this skin delivers.
Where this sits for Sett players
Sett has Spirit Blossom at Legendary tier which is good. He has Firecracker, Pool Party, and others in the Epic range. Radiant Serpent outproduces all of them in terms of visual quality because the Exalted tier just allows for more particle density and model detail than 1350 or even 1820 RP skins can offer.
If you play Sett regularly in top lane or jungle, Radiant Serpent is the premium option and it earns that label. The W and R animations specifically feel significantly better than any alternative. Grinded about 30 ranked games with this skin since January and every single max grit Haymaker still feels impactful. That’s the sign of a well-designed skin – when the VFX don’t get old even after dozens of games.
If you play Sett occasionally, Spirit Blossom at 1820 RP is the value pick. Solid Legendary with a different vibe. But for mains? This is it. Lock in the serpent. The R slam alone in a baron fight is worth the Exalted pricing. Took their fed Vayne and slammed her into three people during a late game teamfight last week and the serpent crater covered half the pit. My jungler said “that was cinematic” in all chat. He wasnt wrong. Arguably the best Sett skin and I don’t see anything topping it unless Riot decides to make a Transcendent tier Sett down the line.
