Soul Fighter Sett

First time I saw Soul Fighter Sett load in, I thought Riot finally made a fighting game skin that actually fits the champ. Sett already punches people for a living. Giving him a tournament arc aesthetic just makes sense. Locked this in immediately when it dropped mid-season 13 and honestly havent looked back since. The whole vibe is anime brawler meets interdimensional arena fighter, and on a champ who literally has a wrestling ult, it clicks harder than it should.

What the skin actually changes

New VFX across the board. The Q hits feel crunchier with these bright energy particles trailing off his fists. W is the highlight for me. That Haymaker shield and release blast gets this golden burst effect that reads beautifully in a teamfight. You can actually see the grit bar filling with a cleaner visual indicator too, which sounds minor but after 150+ games with this skin I noticed it helps with timing.

E pulls have these streaking light trails. Looks clean. R is where it really pops off though. The suplex sends out this shockwave of tournament energy on impact. Slammed their Jinx into three backline squishies last Thursday around midnight and the VFX made it look like a cinematic. New recall animation too, Sett does this fighting stance warmup that fits the whole martial arts tournament theme perfectly.

Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Kinda feels like a missed opportunity for a skin in this price range, but the visual package carries it. Not gonna lie, the auto attack particles alone made me feel like my cs was smoother in lane. Placebo? Probably. But I’ll take it.

The Soul Fighter line and release details

Soul Fighter dropped July 20, 2023. Right in the middle of summer event season. Herbie Wang and Kudos Productions handled the artwork, and they cooked on this one. The splash has Sett in this fighting tournament pose with energy crackling around his fists. Great phone wallpaper material (random aside: it actually was my lock screen for like two months straight).

The Soul Fighter skinline pulled in a bunch of champs. Jhin, Lux, Pyke, Gwen, Viego, Naafiri. Sett fits the theme better than most of them though. A brawler in a fighting tournament? That’s just his lore with extra steps. The whole line has this Street Fighter meets anime aesthetic and Sett wears it naturally.

9 chromas total if you want variety. Obsidian goes full dark mode which reads really well against the Rift, gives him that final boss energy. Amethyst swaps to purple tones that hit the mage-adjacent vibe harder than you’d expect on a bruiser. Limitless is the flashy pick with silver and purple, been running that one in my Diamond games this season specifically. The rest are solid but those three stand out.

Is Soul Fighter Sett worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic tier skin. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX overhaul is genuinely good, the recall is clean, and the thematic fit is better than half of Sett’s catalog. Could be wrong here but I think this sits comfortably in the top three Sett skins alongside Spirit Blossom and Heartsteel.

If you main Sett or even just have him in your ranked rotation, this one earns its spot. Been maining Sett with this skin through two splits now and I keep coming back to it over the others. The W alone in a tight dragon pit teamfight just looks correct. Shop has it, permanent availability, no vault nonsense.

Skip it if you already own Spirit Blossom and only play Sett occasionally. But for Sett one-tricks grinding solo queue? Maybe just my experience but this skin makes the champ feel more responsive. Could be coping but I swear the W timing hits different. Worth the RP, easy lock-in, season 13 or 14 dont matter. Still holds up.
