Soul Fighter Naafiri

First game I played with Soul Fighter Naafiri was around 1 AM on a random Wednesday, and the pack just looked different. Not gonna lie, when the Soul Fighter event dropped in July 2023 I wasnt sure Naafiri needed a skin already. Champion had barely been out. But Riot went ahead and gave her the tournament fighter treatment, and honestly it works better than I expected.

How Soul Fighter changes Naafiri’s kit

The VFX overhaul is where this skin earns its 1350 RP. Her Q packmates get these bright energy trails that read clean against the Rift, especially in river fights around dragon. The W dash has a sharper particle effect with that golden Soul Fighter glow. Feels faster even though it obviously isnt.

Been running this in Diamond ranked and the recall animation is solid. Naafiri does this fighting stance sequence that fits the whole martial arts tournament vibe of the Soul Fighter line. No new voice lines though – base VO, no changes. For an Epic tier skin thats expected, but I think the VFX carry it hard enough that you dont notice.

Her E gets the cleanest update. The dash-through effect has these energy slashes that pop in teamfights. Could be wrong here but I feel like the R visuals are slightly harder to track for enemies compared to base. The ult trail is this bright golden streak instead of the darker default. Had a game last week where their ADC walked straight into my ult engage because it blended with a Lux Q flying past. Lucky timing probably, but still.

The Soul Fighter skinline and release context

Soul Fighter dropped July 20, 2023. Mid-season 13. Julia Yurtsev nailed the splash – the fighting tournament energy comes through perfectly with the dynamic pose and the packmates flanking her.

The Soul Fighter line is one of Riot’s more creative thematic drops. Pulled from that anime tournament fighter aesthetic. Jhin, Lux, Sett, Viego, Pyke all got skins in the same set. Naafiri fits the aggressive dive assassin role in the lineup. Kinda feels like she was designed for this skinline honestly, the whole pack predator fantasy translates naturally into a fighting tournament competitor with her wolves as her crew.

9 chromas total. Obsidian is the standout for me – goes full dark and the pack looks menacing. Amethyst hits a nice purple mage-assassin vibe thats unexpected on Naafiri. Limitless has this silver and purple split that reads premium. Been daily driving the Obsidian chroma specifically since maybe season 13 or 14, dont remember exactly when I bought it. The rest are fine but those three I keep coming back to.

Is Soul Fighter Naafiri worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: for Naafiri mains this is an easy lock-in. She doesnt have a massive skin catalog to compete with, so Soul Fighter basically sits as her best option right now. The VFX work is above average for an Epic skin. New particles on every ability plus the recall animation. Shop has it, permanent availability.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. If you’re spamming Naafiri in ranked and want something cleaner than base, this is the pick. Played maybe 80 games with this skin across two seasons and the novelty hasnt worn off. The packmates looking distinct from base Naafiri is what sells it – in a hectic teamfight pre-6 or during a jungle clear, the golden energy trails just read better.

Skip it if you dont play Naafiri at all obviously. But for anyone who pulls her out even occasionally in solo queue, Soul Fighter is the Naafiri skin if you can only own one. Simple change – huge impact on how the champion feels in game. Three things stood out after dozens of games: W dash particles, ult trail visibility, and the recall. Everything else is bonus. Spammed this in Diamond last split and not once did I swap back to default.
