First time I saw Pool Party Leona load in, I thought someone was trolling my ranked game. Leona shows up with a parasol and beach gear and I’m sitting there thinking we lost draft. Played against it maybe three times before I caved and bought it myself. No regrets.

What the skin actually changes

So Leona trades her full Solari plate armor for swimwear and a sun hat. Her shield becomes a beach umbrella. Honestly not gonna lie, the umbrella shield is the entire reason this skin works. Every time you W up and walk into a teamfight with a parasol it just hits different. The VFX got a rework too. Her Zenith Blade sends out a beam that feels more like concentrated sunlight, and her ult drops what looks like a solar flare on a beach day. Clean stuff for a 975 RP skin.

The recall animation is where Riot put extra effort. Leona sets up her umbrella and kicks back like shes on vacation. Simple concept but it reads well on the Rift. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is expected at this price point. The Q auto-attack proc has a satisfying visual pop when you stun someone. Been running this in Diamond support games and the ability reads are clear. No confusion on what’s happening in a teamfight, which matters more than people think for engage supports.

One thing I noticed after like 40 games with this skin. The parasol animations during her E engage look slightly different from the default sword. Could be wrong here but it feels like the windup is more visible, which might actually telegraph your engage to good players. Small thing. Probably doesnt matter below Masters.

Pool Party line and release context

Pool Party Leona dropped September 9, 2013. Season 3. Pan Chengwei nailed the splash, the colors pop hard and Leona looks genuinely relaxed for once. The Pool Party skinline is one of Riot’s longest running themes and Leona was part of that early wave that defined the whole vibe.

3 chromas available for this one. Dawn Pink swaps to a warm coral tone that I think looks better than base honestly. Dawn Azure goes teal and purple, kinda gives off a night pool party energy. Dawn Lemon is the bright gold and red option. (Random aside: Dawn Lemon reminds me of actual lemonade stands at summer events and now I cant unsee it.) For 975 RP the base skin sits at standard tier pricing. Shop has it permanently so no vault stress.

Worth locking in?

Real verdict: Pool Party Leona is solid value. 975 RP for new VFX, a custom recall, and one of the more creative model swaps in the game. Last Tuesday I had a game where I flash E’d their ADC under tower with a beach umbrella and the all-chat reaction was worth the purchase alone. The skin competes well against Leona’s more expensive options.

If you main Leona and want something fun without dropping Legendary money, this is the pick. Skip it if you already own Solar Eclipse or Lunar Eclipse since those are on another level visually. But for the price? Hard to argue against 975 RP. Been my go-to Leona skin for casual ranked sessions since season 10 I think. Top pick for Leona mains who dont take themselves too seriously in lane.
