Fuzz Fizz

First time I saw Fuzz Fizz in a loading screen I thought someone modded their client. A Pomeranian riding a cat toy. On the Rift. In ranked. Took me a solid five seconds to process what I was looking at, and honestly thats when I knew I had to buy it.

What Fizz actually looks like in a dog suit

So the whole concept is Fizz dressed as a puppy. Specifically a fluffy golden Pomeranian with big round eyes and floppy ears. The model swap is genuinely well done for an Epic skin. Fizz’s trident gets replaced with a cat toy – one of those feather wands you’d wave at your actual cat. The detail on the fur texture is clean, reads well even when you’re zipping through a teamfight at 200 APM.

The VFX are where Riot put in the real work. His Q dash leaves a trail of little paw prints. Not subtle either, you can see them clearly when poking in lane. His W has this squeaky toy sound effect that I think drives some people insane. Been running this in Diamond for maybe 40 games and I’ve had two separate supports in voice chat tell me to stop using the skin because the W sound was tilting them. Mission accomplished.

Playful/Trickster, his E, drops a big splash with rubber duck particles. Cute stuff. The ult is the real highlight though. Fizz throws a dog bone instead of a fish, and what emerges from the ground is this massive cat. Not a shark. A giant angry cat. It swallows the target whole. Kinda feels like Riot’s art team had way too much fun with this one. The recall animation has Fizz playing fetch with the bone, chasing his own tail, the whole nine yards. New recall for sure.

(Random aside: I set this as my permanent Fizz skin the day it dropped and haven’t switched back since. Season 9 loyalty right there.)

The Cats Versus Dogs event and Hozure’s splash

Fuzz Fizz released March 27, 2019. Part of the Cats Versus Dogs skinline, which was one of Riot’s more lighthearted thematic drops. The whole line played on the cats vs dogs rivalry. Fizz landed on the dogs side obviously. Corgi Corki came out in the same batch if I remember right, maybe Pretty Kitty Rengar too on the cat side.

Horace ‘Hozure’ Hsu nailed the splash. The composition puts Fizz mid-leap with the Pomeranian hood flying back, chasing after what looks like a squeaky toy. Background has that bright, Saturday morning cartoon energy. Hozure’s style fits this skin perfectly because the whole thing is supposed to be ridiculous and the splash leans into it hard.

No chromas on this one. Straight base skin only. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is standard for 1350 RP Epics. Could be wrong here but I feel like custom voice lines would have pushed this into Legendary territory anyway. The VFX and recall animation carry the skin on their own.

Cats Versus Dogs as a skinline doesnt get enough credit. It’s not as flashy as Spirit Blossom or as edgy as Coven but the execution on every skin in the line was solid. Fizz fits the theme naturally because his kit already has that playful, annoying energy that a small yappy dog radiates.

Is Fuzz Fizz worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you play Fizz at all, this is a must-own. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Full VFX overhaul, new recall, the cat ult replacing the shark. Every ability reads differently from base. Not sure if it’s just me but the E animation actually feels slightly smoother on this skin, probably placebo, but I’ll take it.

Last Tuesday I was in a late-game comp where our jungle Kayn was running it down and I still managed to one-shot their ADC with the cat ult in dragon pit. The kill cam showing a giant cat eating Jinx alive was worth the 1350 alone. Shop has it, permanent availability, no vault rotation to worry about.

Fizz mains specifically – you know the champion already tilts people. The squeaky W proc sound on Fuzz Fizz multiplies that tilt factor by about three. Pre-6 lane trades where you’re just spamming W with that noise is psychological warfare. Best Fizz skin if you value fun over edgy aesthetics. Might be overthinking it but I think the goofy skins actually make you play looser and take more creative engages. Locked in this skin for two full seasons now and dont plan on switching. S-tier Fizz cosmetic, easy recommendation for mains and one-tricks alike.
