Cottontail Fizz

First time I saw Cottontail Fizz load into my game I thought someone was trolling. A bunny suit on the most annoying assassin in the game. Took me maybe two matches of watching that fuzzy little menace hop around bot lane before I realized Riot actually cooked something fun here. Not gonna lie, this skin grew on me fast.

What Cottontail Fizz actually changes

So the model swap is the obvious part. Fizz gets a full bunny outfit, ears and all, and his trident becomes this giant carrot. Sounds goofy. It is goofy. But the execution works better than you’d expect for a 975 RP Standard tier skin. The color palette shifts from ocean blue to soft pastels, pinks and whites, and it reads surprisingly clean on the Rift.

New VFX on the abilities. His Q dash leaves a trail of eggs behind, and the W proc has this subtle sparkle effect. Nothing crazy but noticeable. The E, Playful/Trickster, is where Cottontail Fizz really shines though. Instead of the normal splash, you get this egg-themed burst when he lands. Been running this in Diamond and I swear the hitbox looks different even though I know its the same. Placebo is real.

The recall animation is new too. Fizz pulls out a basket and starts collecting eggs before hopping back to base. Short, sweet, fits the theme. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is expected at this price point. Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack sound is slightly different. Softer thud. Might just be my headphones at 3 AM last Saturday.

No chromas on this one. Zero. What you see is what you get.

The Cottontail line and where Fizz fits

Cottontail Fizz dropped August 9, 2015. Season 5 era. Fizz was terrorizing mid lane even harder back then, pre the multiple reworks to his W passive. The Cottontail skinline is one of Riot’s seasonal Easter themes, same family as Cottontail Teemo and Cottontail Veigar. Fizz fits the line naturally because the champion already has that playful trickster energy built into his kit.

Sixmorevodka Studio handled the splash. They captured the vibe perfectly, Fizz mid-jump with eggs flying everywhere against a spring meadow background. (Random aside: my friend uses this splash as his Discord profile picture and people always ask if its from an anime.) The splash reads well as a thumbnail too, which matters for champ select.

975 RP for this. Standard tier pricing. Shop has it, permanent availability, so no rush. For context thats the same price as some skins that barely change the model, and Cottontail gives you new VFX plus that recall. Solid value per RP spent honestly.

Should you pick up Cottontail Fizz?

Real verdict: this depends entirely on your vibe. If you’re the type of Fizz player who wants to look intimidating while you one-shot their ADC, skip this. Void Fizz or Little Devil exist for that energy. But if you want to tilt the enemy team by killing them with a bunny holding a carrot, Cottontail is the move.

Played maybe 30 games with this skin last spring around Easter and the amount of all-chat messages I got was hilarious. Something about getting dove pre-6 by a rabbit just hits different for people. The skin doesnt change how Fizz plays obviously but the mental warfare angle is real. Been climbing with worse skins, thats for sure.

Biggest downside is the age. Season 5 skin means the model quality sits below what Riot puts out now for the same price tier. Compare it to something like Astronaut Fizz and you can see the polygon difference. But for 975 RP I think it holds up. Not the best Fizz skin, probably third or fourth in the lineup, but it has personality that the edgier skins lack. Worth it for Fizz mains who want variety in their rotation. Fair price for the package.
