Bewitching Yuumi

First game I played with Bewitching Yuumi was around 1 AM on a Wednesday, duo queue with my ADC buddy who kept pinging me to detach. Classic. But the skin immediately clicked for me. The whole witch-cat-on-a-spellbook aesthetic just works, and Yuumi floating around with a little witch hat and candy corn particles felt way more polished than I expected from an Epic. Not gonna lie, I wasnt sold from the splash alone but in-game changed my mind fast.

What Bewitching Yuumi actually brings to the table

So this is a 1350 RP Epic skin, which means you get new VFX across the board and a fresh recall animation. Voice lines stay base, no new VO. The Q missile trail swaps to this orange-purple Halloween candy swirl that reads super clean against the Rift. Honestly the Q tracking particle is one of the better parts because it pops visually without being distracting when you’re trying to poke in lane.

The W attach has a subtle pumpkin glow now. Small detail but I noticed it maybe 15 games in. Her E heal throws out little candy effects and bats, which is a nice touch during teamfights when you’re spam healing your backline carry. The R waves got the biggest upgrade though. Prowling Projectile already felt satisfying on base Yuumi but the Bewitching version sends out these Halloween-themed waves with bat silhouettes. Looks great in a teamfight especially when you’re attached to a dive comp engage champ going deep.

The recall animation has Yuumi doing a little cauldron brew on her book. Cute stuff. (Random aside: my girlfriend who doesnt even play League walked by my monitor and said “that’s adorable” so take that for what it’s worth.)

Kinda feels like Riot put extra care into the Bewitching line that year. The 2021 batch dropped October 7, 2021, right before Worlds season was heating up. Played maybe 30 ranked games with it that month while climbing through Diamond, and the skin never got old visually.

The Bewitching line and who made this

Bewitching is one of Riot’s recurring Halloween skinlines and Yuumi fits the theme naturally. A magical cat plus witch aesthetic is almost too obvious but they executed it well. The Bewitching roster has some solid entries across the years and Yuumi’s version holds up against the rest of the set.

Svetlana Tigai and West Studio handled the artwork. They captured the playful vibe perfectly, the splash has Yuumi perched on Book with jack-o-lanterns and candy scattered around. Good color work on the purples and oranges.

This one sits in the Legacy vault now so you cant just grab it any time. Hextech only these days or wait for the Halloween event shop rotation. Seen maybe 4 or 5 of these in my games all season which makes it feel a bit more rare than the permanent shop Yuumi skins.

8 chromas total for Bewitching Yuumi. Obsidian is my pick, the dark color palette makes the witch theme feel more serious and less cutesy. Pearl goes in the opposite direction, almost angelic white witch energy which is a cool contrast. Rose Quartz hits a pink pastel note that some Yuumi mains swear by but personally I think it clashes with the Halloween vibe. Could be wrong here but the base color scheme still reads best to me after trying most of them.

Should you pick up Bewitching Yuumi?

Real verdict: for 1350 RP this is a strong Epic. The VFX changes are meaningful, the theme fits Yuumi like a glove, and the recall is charming without being obnoxious. Been running this as my go-to Yuumi skin since season 12 and I keep coming back to it over the other options.

The catch is availability. Legacy vault means you’re either rolling it from chests or waiting for a seasonal shop. If you’re a Yuumi one-trick or even just someone who pulls her out for enchanter comps in ranked, its worth grabbing when the opportunity comes. Fair price for the package.

Skip it if you only play Yuumi once every two months. But for mains? Top pick. The Bewitching skin captures something about Yuumi’s personality that the base skin hints at but doesn’t fully deliver. That playful mischief energy. Real talk though, the Obsidian chroma with this skin in a late-game peel comp where you’re just W-hopping between your ADC and your jungle? Chef’s kiss gameplay experience. One of those skins where the fantasy and the champion kit just align.
