First time I saw TPA Ezreal load in was back in season 3 and I remember thinking it looked like some random dude cosplaying at a LAN event. Thats kind of the whole point though. The Taipei Assassins won Worlds 2012 and Riot gave each player a skin to commemorate the run. Ezreal got the nod for Bebe’s ADC performance, and honestly the skin captures that esports energy in a way most of the championship skins from that era dont even attempt.

What actually changes on TPA Ezreal

Not gonna lie, this is a bare bones skin by modern standards. Standard tier at 750 RP means you’re getting a model swap and that’s about it. No new VFX on Q or any other ability, voice lines stay base, no recall animation. The Mystic Shot still fires the same golden bolt. Your W, E, R all look identical to default Ezreal.

What you do get is the outfit. Ezreal trades his explorer gear for a TPA jersey, headset around the neck, and what looks like cargo pants. He’s holding a foam finger instead of his gauntlet. Foam finger. On an ADC. Been running this in Diamond a few times last month just for the mental warfare angle and I swear the enemy bot lane tilts harder when they see a foam finger Mystic Shot poke them under tower.

The model itself is clean for 2013. Could be wrong here but I think the color scheme reads better than some of the other TPA skins from the same set. The red and black jersey pops against the Rift, especially in bot lane where the green background gives it contrast. Simple change – huge impact on visual clarity.

The World Champions 2012 line and release context

TPA Ezreal dropped May 23, 2013, roughly seven months after TPA took down Azubu Frost in the Season 2 World Championship. Bo Lu did the splash and captured the vibe of a pro player mid-celebration. The whole World Champions 2012 skinline includes TPA Shen, TPA Orianna, TPA Mundo, and TPA Nunu. Five skins total for the roster.

Legacy vault skin. You cant just walk into the shop and grab it. Hextech only these days unless Riot decides to crack the vault open for some esports event, which happens maybe once a year if you’re lucky. Seen maybe two of these in my games all season. (Random aside: the splash would make a solid Discord avatar for anyone repping old school esports nostalgia.)

No chromas exist for this one. Zero. Given it’s a 2013 championship skin I doubt Riot ever circles back to add any. The World Champions skins from that era were one and done releases.

Should you pick up TPA Ezreal?

Real verdict: this skin lives on vibes alone. You know what surprised me? How much personality the foam finger adds to Ezreal’s auto attack animation. Played this for like 15 games last Tuesday around 2 AM in a ranked session and the novelty didnt wear off. The lack of new particles hurts it compared to anything released after season 5 though.

750 RP is standard pricing for what you get. Fair price for the package. If you main Ezreal and care about esports history, this is a collector piece. Kinda feels like wearing a vintage jersey to a pickup game. Not the flashiest thing in the room but people who know, know.

Skip it if you want actual gameplay-feel changes. Pulsefire, Star Guardian, Battle Academia all deliver more for higher price points. But for a Diamond Ezreal player who’s been spamming him since season 4, I think TPA has a charm that newer skins cant replicate. Overpriced for the feature set by 2026 standards, sure. Worth it for the story it tells? Absolutely.
