First time I saw TPA Mundo in a loading screen I thought somebody modded their client. Dr. Mundo walking around the Rift in a full suit with a keyboard as his weapon. Took me a second to realize this was an official Worlds skin. Been playing League since season 2 and this one still catches me off guard sometimes when it shows up in ARAM.

What TPA Mundo actually looks like in game

So the whole concept is Dr. Mundo cosplaying as a Taipei Assassins player. Suit jacket, headset around his neck, the works. The cleaver? Gone. Replaced with a keyboard he chucks at people. Honestly not gonna lie, watching Mundo Q someone with a full-size keyboard in a teamfight never gets old. The VFX on the keyboard toss has this slight trail that reads clean against most Rift backgrounds.

No new voice lines here. Voice stays default. But thats kind of fine because Mundo’s base VO is already hilarious enough. “Mundo goes where he pleases” hits different when he’s dressed like he just walked out of an internet cafe.

The model itself is solid for a 750 RP Standard tier skin. You get the full outfit change, the keyboard weapon, and the headset detail. Pre-rework this skin looked rougher but after the Mundo VGU it cleaned up real nice. The suit texture actually has some decent detail now. Not sure if it’s just me but the tie looks slightly crooked and I choose to believe that’s intentional because it’s Mundo.

No new recall animation. Standard Mundo recall. For the price point though you’re not really expecting one. The keyboard is doing all the heavy lifting here and it does enough.

The World Champions 2012 line and where this skin fits

TPA Mundo dropped May 23, 2013 as part of the World Champions: 2012 skinline celebrating Taipei Assassins’ Worlds win. Bo Lu did the splash art. Season 3 era, back when esports skins were still a novelty and Riot was figuring out how to honor championship rosters.

The whole TPA set had this business casual vibe. Ezreal, Shen, Orianna, Nunu – they all got the treatment. Dr. Mundo’s version might be the funniest of the bunch though. Something about a purple monster in formal wear just works. The World Champions 2012 line was Riot’s second attempt at Worlds skins after the original season 2 set, and I think they nailed the personality better here.

Legacy vault skin. So you cant just walk into the shop and grab it whenever. Gotta wait for Legacy sales or get lucky with Hextech crafting. Seen maybe 2 of these in my ranked games all season, which is a shame because it’s genuinely one of the more entertaining Dr. Mundo skins to watch in action. Last Wednesday I had one on my team in a Diamond game and the entire lobby was typing about the keyboard.

No chromas available for this one. Zero. Which makes sense given it’s a legacy esports commemoration skin from 2013. Riot wasnt doing chromas back then and they never went back to add any.

Should you pick up TPA Mundo?

Real verdict: at 750 RP this is a steal if you can actually get your hands on it. The keyboard alone carries the skin. Dr. Mundo has a lot of options these days – Corporate Mundo exists, Pool Party is a thing, Frozen Prince goes hard on the fantasy angle. But TPA Mundo occupies this weird niche where it’s both a piece of esports history and genuinely funny to play.

(Random aside: I used the keyboard cleaver as my Discord avatar for like three months in season 10 and nobody knew what it was.)

If you main Dr. Mundo and you see this pop up in a Legacy sale or My Shop, grab it. 750 RP feels fair for what you get. The skin reads well in lane, the keyboard projectile is visible enough that it wont mess with your cs or poke game, and it’s rare enough that you’ll get comments about it in champ select. Could be wrong here but I think this is underrated compared to some of Mundo’s flashier options. Skip it only if you already own Corporate Mundo and dont need a second meme skin in your rotation. For everyone else who plays Dr. Mundo even occasionally, worth the pickup when it surfaces from the vault.
