Mr. Mundoverse

First time I saw Mr. Mundoverse loading in, I thought someone was trolling. Big purple dude in a speedo flexing on the Rift. Took me a second to realize this was an actual skin and not some custom mod. Played against one in a Diamond game last season and honestly it threw me off more than any intimidation emote could. Something about Dr. Mundo posing mid-teamfight just hits different.

The bodybuilder fantasy on Dr. Mundo

Not gonna lie, there’s not a ton going on here mechanically. Standard tier skin at 520 RP, so you’re getting a model swap and thats about it. No new VFX, no recall animation, voice lines stay base. But the model swap itself carries the whole thing.

Dr. Mundo trades his usual look for a full bodybuilder getup. Competition speedo, oiled-up purple skin, a championship belt. He’s throwing a trophy instead of his cleaver with Q, which is the kind of small detail that makes the skin. The trophy spin looks goofy in the best way. Playing this skin in lane, the W toggle just looks funnier when its a bodybuilder on fire running at you.

Been running this in my Diamond games occasionally when I get Mundo in ARAM or need a comfort top pick. The E auto-reset with that trophy in hand looks clean even without particle changes. Could be wrong here but I think the model actually reads slightly bigger than base, which messes with hitbox perception in lane. Might be overthinking it but I swear people misjudge the Q width.

When Mr. Mundoverse dropped and who made it

Mr. Mundoverse released March 24, 2010. Early season 1 territory. Terence ‘Terrylefruit’ Cantal and West Studio handled the artwork, and for a skin from that era it holds up decently. The splash captures the whole vibe: Mundo on stage, flexing, not a care in the world.

This one sits in the Legacy vault now, so you cant just walk into the shop and grab it. Hextech only these days or wait for a Legacy sale event. I think I picked mine up from a random chest back in season 9 or 10 dont remember exactly. Was around 3 AM after a ranked loss streak and seeing it drop actually improved my mood. (Random aside: the splash would make an incredible gym motivation poster.)

No chromas available for Mr. Mundoverse. Given the age of the skin that’s expected. The Legacy skinline puts it alongside other old catalog skins that Riot rotated out over the years. Dr. Mundo has plenty of other options now but this one has a charm the newer skins dont replicate.

Should you chase Mr. Mundoverse?

Real verdict: if you main Dr. Mundo and like the comedic skins, Mr. Mundoverse is top tier humor. 520 RP is the price tag, which is basically nothing. The problem is actually getting it since its vault-locked. Worth rerolling skin shards for if you’re a Mundo one-trick.

Compared to something like Corporate Mundo or El Macho Mundo, Mr. Mundoverse is simpler. No contest there. But simple works when the concept is this strong. You’re a bodybuilder throwing trophies at people. That ranked game last Tuesday where my jungler picked Mundo and locked in this skin, our whole team morale went up before minions spawned.

Skip it if you need flashy VFX or new voice processing on your skins. Dr. Mundo has Legendary options for that. But for 520 RP and pure comedy value on the Rift, Mr. Mundoverse delivers. Best joke skin in Mundo’s lineup and I will die on that hill. The whole comp feels lighter when someone locks this in during champ select. Played maybe 40 games with it total and never once regretted having it in my collection.
