First time I saw SSG Ezreal pop up in champ select I thought someone was running a custom skin. The white and blue color scheme reads so clean on the Rift that it almost looks like a different champion. Been running this in Diamond for a couple splits now and it still catches people off guard in loading screen. Not sure if it’s just me but something about Worlds skins just hits different when the player actually earned it.

What the SSG treatment does for Ezreal

So the whole deal with SSG Ezreal is the Samsung Galaxy 2017 World Championship theme. White jacket, blue accents, the SSG logo on the back. Clean. Ezreal gets new VFX across the board and they went with this icy blue particle set that honestly reads better than some of his more expensive skins. Q feels crisp, the Mystic Shot projectile has this tight blue trail that’s easy to track in lane. Matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to cs and poke at the same time.

W and E keep the same blue energy theme. Essence Flux has a nice glow to it, and Arcane Shift leaves behind particles that actually let you see where you blinked from. Small detail but I noticed it last week during a skirmish near dragon pit. The R, Trueshot Barrage, fires off with a wide blue beam that looks solid in teamfights. Not legendary-tier animation work obviously, but for an Epic skin at 1350 RP the VFX package delivers.

The recall animation is where Haru’s personality comes through. Ezreal signs a trophy, very on brand for the Worlds celebration skins. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is expected for this tier. (Random aside: I keep this skin in rotation specifically because the blue particles dont clash with any map terrain.)

The 2017 Worlds line and SSG Ezreal’s place in it

Released July 20, 2018. Season 8, right in the middle of summer. Samsung Galaxy swept Faker’s SKT in the 2017 finals and these skins were the reward. Rudy Siswanto and Pan Chengwei handled the splash art, and they captured the celebratory vibe perfectly. Ezreal looks confident in the piece, jacket flowing, the trophy moment frozen in time.

The World Champions: 2017 skinline included picks from the actual SSG roster. Ezreal was Haru’s choice if I remember right. Could be wrong here but I think he picked it for the jungle Ezreal angle which was a thing back then. The whole set has this consistent white and blue palette that ties them together without looking copy-pasted.

Legacy vault skin. You cant just grab it from the shop whenever. Riot brings these back during Worlds events usually, so if you missed the window you’re waiting for the next tournament cycle. One chroma exists, the Elite variant, which shifts the palette toward purple and lighter blue tones. Kinda feels like the Elite chroma is for people who wanted the skin to pop even harder in game, the purple accent on the jacket is a nice touch.

Should you pick up SSG Ezreal for 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic tier Ezreal skin that flies under the radar. Most people default to Star Guardian or Battle Academia when they think Ezreal skins. Been playing maybe 40 games with SSG this season alone and the VFX clarity is genuinely top three across his whole catalog. The blue particles read clean against every map background I’ve tested.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New particles on every ability, solid recall, a splash that actually tells a story. The downside is availability. Legacy means you’re at Riot’s mercy for when it comes back to the shop. Played against an Ezreal one-trick last Tuesday who was running Porcelain and honestly SSG looked better in my head. Might be bias.

If you main Ezreal and care about competitive LoL history this is a must-own. The Worlds skins carry weight that random skinlines just dont have. Skip it if you need flashy transformations or new voice lines, thats not what this skin is about. But for clean VFX, a solid theme, and that championship pedigree, SSG Ezreal earns its spot in the rotation. Top pick for Ezreal mains who value subtlety over spectacle.
