Snow Moon Morgana

Snow Moon Morgana dropped May 2023 and immediately became one of the better looking support skins that season. Marie Magny and West Studio did the splash showing Morgana in this winter warrior priestess aesthetic with snow-white energy and lunar details. Different from her usual dark angel look. Way different actually. This is Morgana with a frost-and-moonlight color palette and it turns out that works really well with her kit. Been running this in Diamond support games since release and I keep coming back to it over her other options.

Lunar frost on binding and torment

The model replaces Morgana’s dark fallen angel robes with a white and silver Snow Moon outfit. Lighter, more ethereal. Wings have frost crystal effects along the edges. Dark Binding on Q fires a moonlight-infused root with ice crystal trails. The root effect wraps the target in snow-moon energy which reads distinctly from base and from Coven.

Tormented Shadow on W drops a pool of moonlight on the ground with snowflake particles drifting within the zone. Pretty looking and the damage ticks pulse with cold light. Might be overthinking it but the W pool on this skin feels more readable for enemies too, which could matter in lane trades where you want them to step out faster for the slow tick. Black Shield on E wraps allies in a frost-moon barrier with visible snowflake patterns in the shield surface. The shield pop when it breaks has a frost shatter effect which is subtle but noticeable. Soul Shackles on R tethers enemies with silver chains that crystallize with frost when the stun procs. Multi-person R stun with the frost crystallization happening on two or three people at once looks great in river fights. Hit a 3-person R stun at dragon last Tuesday and the frost chains looked insane across three different targets.

Eight chromas: Ruby, Turquoise, Rose Quartz, Emerald, Tanzanite, Sapphire, Obsidian, and Pearl. Turquoise shifts to a blue-green winter palette that I think looks better than the base white. Obsidian goes dark which creates this interesting contrast between snow theme and dark color scheme. At 1350 RP in the shop. Part of the Snow Moon skinline. New recall with lunar meditation effects. No new voice lines. Erica Lindbeck’s Morgana voice applies.

Where Snow Moon fits for Morgana mains

Morgana has Spirit Blossom at Exalted tier and Coven at Legendary. Both are above Snow Moon in raw production quality. But at 1350 RP with 8 chromas, Snow Moon offers the best value-to-quality ratio in Morgana’s catalog. The winter aesthetic is unique in her lineup and the chromas give genuine variety. Turquoise chroma on this skin is my go-to Morgana look for ranked support games. Just works.

Thing is, Morgana support in Diamond still gets played a ton and you see a lot of Coven and base skin. Snow Moon stands out in champ select because its less common. (random aside: had a game where both teams had Snow Moon Morgana and the mirror matchup with identical frost Q bindings flying in both directions was comedy) If you main Morgana and already own Coven, Snow Moon is the best second skin to add for variety. Fair price for the package at 1350 RP.
