Sentinel Olaf Skin - Splash, Chromas & 1350 RP

First time I spotted Sentinel Olaf in champion select I genuinely thought someone had queued into the wrong game. The armor is white and gold with Sentinel light accents – a complete read-shift from the usual blood-soaked axe Viking. Been running this in Diamond since it dropped July 8, 2021 and it still looks sharper than half the Epics Riot shipped that same year.

What actually changes with Sentinel Olaf

Epic tier, so you get new VFX, new recall, updated sounds. Worth knowing upfront: no new voice lines, base VO stays. Same lines as default Olaf.

The Q Undertow axe trail is where the skin earns its price. That return arc has a bright Sentinel light streak now – white-blue glow on the axe as it slides back across the Rift. In teamfights it reads clearly, which actually helps with skill-shot tracking when you’re trying to peel for your backline ADC. Pre-6 in the top lane the updated Q proc animation makes the damage feedback feel more satisfying. Dumb thing to care about but it makes a difference over 200+ games.

Ragnarok ult flips the color palette from red to blue-white Sentinel flame. Less berserker chaos, more divine-warrior energy. I think it fits Olaf specifically – the champion is narratively obsessed with fate and glory, so the Sentinel angle reads naturally on him. E passive damage proc is subtle but present: small light burst on hit instead of the base splash. You notice it in the jungle clear after a few games.

Recall is genuinely one of the best in the Sentinels line. Olaf summons light constructs, performs a warrior oath. No goofy dance, no joke animation. Just a stoic soldier of light doing his thing. Played maybe 200 games with Sentinel Olaf and never skipped it, which is my honest benchmark for whether a recall is good.

The Sentinels of Light event, the splash, and 9 chromas

Sentinel Olaf launched July 8, 2021 as part of the big Sentinels of Light event – the Ruined King arc, Viego as the main villain, whole lore drop. Marie Magny and West Studio handled the splash. Banger splash. They captured the Black Mist vs. Sentinel light contrast exactly right, Olaf mid-fight with the white glow cutting through the darkness. (sidebar for Olaf mains specifically: this splash as a desktop wallpaper goes hard, trust me on that one.)

The Sentinels of Light skinline was event-tied at launch but Sentinel Olaf ended up staying in the shop permanently. Available any time at 1350 RP.

9 chromas total. Not gonna list all of them – the one you need to know about is Resolute: near-black with crimson detail, almost reads as a completely different skin in the bot lane when you’re ganking. Sapphire flips the base to deep blue if you lean into the frost-Viking side of the champion fantasy. Tanzanite goes purple and thats actually the one I think looks better than the base – the gold trim pops harder against purple than it does against white, which kinda feels like the chroma designers knew what they were doing more than the base-skin team did.

Should you buy Sentinel Olaf at 1350 RP?

Real verdict: yes, if Olaf is a main or near-main for you. The VFX package covers all four abilities with meaningful updates, the recall is above average for the tier, and 9 chromas give you actual flexibility to customize. The only real knock is the missing VO – if youve been climbing with Olaf since season 9 or 10, the base voice lines are stale and this skin does nothing about that.

If you want the chaotic-berserker fantasy, Dragonslayer Olaf or SKT T1 Olaf fit that aesthetic better. But for Olaf mains who like the armored warrior-of-light look, Sentinel Olaf is the top pick in his skin catalog. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Shop stock, always there.
