First game I loaded into with High Noon Mordekaiser, my duo said it looked like Morde walked straight off a Clint Eastwood poster and into the Rift. Honestly not gonna lie, thats about right. The western demon cowboy fantasy works way better on Mordekaiser than it has any business doing. Something about the iron revenant swinging a massive mace while wearing a duster and a flaming skull just clicks.
What High Noon Mordekaiser actually brings
For 1350 RP you’re getting the full Epic treatment here. New VFX across the board, new recall animation. No new voice lines, base VO stays, but the visual package carries hard enough that I dont mind.
Q slam has this orange-red hellfire burst that reads cleaner than base Mordekaiser in teamfights. Could be wrong here but I think the hitbox indicator is actually easier to track with High Noon’s color palette versus the default green. W shield gets a dusty ember effect, looks like heat rising off desert sand. Pretty clean. E pull has these ghostly chains with a warm copper tint that fits the western theme perfectly.
The R though. Death Realm. This is where High Noon Mordekaiser earns its price. When you ult someone the whole arena shifts to this burning sunset wasteland, orange sky, cracked earth. Dragged their Jinx into it last ranked session around midnight and my support actually pinged question marks because the visual was so different from what they expected. The whole duel-at-high-noon vibe hits peak fantasy when you lock someone into your death realm. Been running this in Diamond for a couple patches after release and the ult transition never gets old.
Recall animation has Mordekaiser pulling a wanted poster, slamming his mace down. Simple change – huge impact on the personality of the skin.
The High Noon line and release context
High Noon Mordekaiser dropped May 12, 2022. Mid season 12 if I remember right, around the durability patch era. West Studio handled the artwork, they captured the menacing silhouette perfectly against that burning sky backdrop.
The High Noon skinline is one of Riot’s most consistent themes. Started as a Yasuo exclusive concept and grew into this whole demonic western universe. Mordekaiser fits naturally as a hellfire warden type. The skinline has some bangers across the roster and Morde’s entry holds up against most of them.
9 chromas total for this one. Obsidian is my go-to, turns the whole skin into this dark gunmetal preacher look that reads menacing even in lane. Nomad has an interesting ice-blue and red split that stands out from the pack. Ruby keeps it classic with deeper reds if you want to lean harder into the infernal cowboy vibe. (Random aside: Obsidian High Noon Morde has been my phone lock screen since I bought it, the color scheme is that clean.)
Shop has it permanently. No vault rotation or loot exclusive nonsense, just grab it whenever.
How it stacks against other Mordekaiser skins
Mordekaiser’s skin catalog is solid. Dark Star is the other strong Epic option, PROJECT exists too. Kinda feels like High Noon edges out Dark Star for me because the color palette is warmer and more distinct from Morde’s base. Dark Star leans purple and cosmic which, sure, looks good, but High Noon’s orange and copper stands out more on the Rift during late-game teamfights when everything is chaos.
Not sure if it’s just me but the auto attack animations feel smoother on High Noon. Might be placebo from the VFX but I’ve played maybe 150 games with this skin since May 2022 and cs-ing feels slightly better. The mace swing has a weight to it that base Mordekaiser lacks visually.
For Mordekaiser mains who splitpush and then ult the enemy carry in side lane, this skin makes that moment feel cinematic. You know what surprised me? How good the passive burn looks. The metallic ember circle around Morde in High Noon is way more readable than base, helps your team see your engage range in fights.
Should you buy High Noon Mordekaiser?
Real verdict: 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Strong VFX overhaul, the Death Realm transformation alone justifies it. Voice stays default which is the only real knock, but Fred Tatasciore’s base Mordekaiser VO is already solid so it’s not a dealbreaker.
If you main Mordekaiser or even play him as a pocket pick for top lane, this is the skin. Spammed this in Diamond through season 12 and 13, kept coming back to it over Dark Star and PROJECT every time. Skip it if you’re waiting for a Legendary Mordekaiser someday, but for the Epic tier this is top pick for Morde mains. The western demon fantasy just works, and 9 chromas give you enough variety to keep it fresh across a full season of ranked grinding.
