Hextech Singed

First time I saw Hextech Singed in a loading screen I thought someone was running a custom skin. Not gonna lie, theres something about the copper and brass tones on this model that just reads differently from base Singed. Picked it up from a Hextech chest maybe season 11 or 12, dont remember exactly, and it became my default Singed skin for a solid stretch of ranked games.

What Hextech Singed actually looks like in game

So this is a Standard tier skin at 520 RP. You’re getting a model swap and texture changes. No new VFX on your Q poison trail, no fresh W pool animation, no updated E fling particles. Voice stays default. No new recall animation either. Pretty bare bones by modern standards.

But the model itself holds up better than you’d expect for a 2010 skin. Singed gets this steampunk-flavored outfit with goggles pushed up on his forehead and mechanical piping running across the shield and backpack. The color palette shifts from his usual green-purple to warmer metallic tones. Golds, browns, that industrial look. Walking around top lane with the poison trail going, the silhouette reads clean even if the textures show their age up close.

Played maybe 40 games with this skin last season in Diamond and the thing I kept noticing is how the model actually pops against the Rift’s greens. Could be wrong here but I think the warm metal colors contrast better than base Singed’s purple does. Especially during teamfights where you’re running through five people with Q, the character model stays distinct. Small detail but it matters when you’re proxying between towers and need to track your positioning.

The Hextech line and where this skin fits

Hextech Singed dropped August 15, 2010. Early League days. The Hextech skinline back then was just a texture theme, not the gemstone crafting system Riot built later. Important distinction. This isn’t a Hextech crafting exclusive like Hextech Annie or Hextech Swain. Different era entirely.

Legacy vault skin. You can’t just walk into the shop and grab it. Need to roll it from chests or wait for one of those rare Legacy vault openings Riot does. 520 RP if it ever shows up in Your Shop or a vault event, which is basically nothing. (Random sidebar: I’ve seen exactly two other Hextech Singed players in my ranked games across three seasons. Rare pick on a rare champ with a rare skin.)

No chromas available. Zero. For a 520 RP Legacy skin from 2010 thats expected. No splash artist credited in the data either, which tracks for skins from that generation. Riot wasnt consistently crediting artists back then.

Should you care about Hextech Singed?

Real verdict: if you main Singed, this is a collector piece. Not his best skin. Beekeeper Singed and Augmented Singed both offer way more for the price. New VFX, better model work, the whole package. Hextech Singed is for the one-trick who wants something nobody else runs in their games.

520 RP feels fair for what you get. Model swap looks decent, the Hextech aesthetic works on Singed’s mad chemist fantasy, and the Legacy status means you’ll stand out in loading screens. Been running this in rotation with Augmented and honestly keep coming back to it for the vibe alone. Last Tuesday around 2 AM I had a Riven all-chat ask where I got the skin. That kind of thing.

Kinda feels like Riot forgot this skin exists. No updates, no chromas, just sitting in the vault collecting dust. If you’re climbing on Singed and a chest drops this, lock it in. If you’re not a Singed player already, skip it. Simple as that. The proxy gameplay and the poison trail ganking is what makes Singed fun, and this skin doesn’t change any of that. Just makes you look cooler doing it.
