Firecracker Sejuani

First time I saw Firecracker Sejuani load in, my immediate reaction was just confusion. Sejuani riding a giant pig covered in festival decorations? Bristle decked out with lanterns and ribbons? Took me a second. Then the VFX started going off and I got it. Been running this skin on and off since season 9 and honestly the novelty hasnt worn off. Something about charging into a teamfight on a lunar festival pig just hits different at 1 AM on a Tuesday.

What Firecracker Sejuani actually brings

For 1350 RP you’re getting the full Epic treatment. New model for both Sejuani and Bristle, new VFX across the kit, and a new recall animation. Voice lines stay base, which is fine. Sejuani’s armor gets this red and gold festival warrior look, heavy on the Lunar Revel aesthetic. Bristle trades the boar fantasy for a decorated pig with golden accents and paper lanterns hanging off the saddle. Kinda feels like Riot went all in on the celebration theme here.

The Q charge leaves a trail of firework sparks. Looks clean in lane and reads well in chaotic teamfights where you need your engage to be visible. W slam gets this burst of red and gold particles on impact. Not sure if it’s just me but the W feels more satisfying to land with this skin. Placebo? Probably. Still counts.

E proc is where it gets fun. The freeze effect comes with this pop of firecracker energy, little explosions radiating out from the target. R is the real showpiece though. Glacial Prison launches what looks like a massive firework rocket, and the detonation zone lights up with festival colors. Played maybe 40 games of Firecracker Sejuani in Diamond last season and the ult VFX never got old. Every engage feels like you’re setting off a fireworks show in the enemy backline.

The recall animation has Sejuani and Bristle celebrating with fireworks. Short and sweet. Nothing groundbreaking but it fits the theme perfectly.

The Firecracker line and release context

Firecracker Sejuani dropped January 28, 2019. Lunar Revel season. Maki Planas Mata handled the artwork, and they captured this warm festival energy that most Sejuani splashes don’t have. Sejuani’s usual vibe is cold, brutal, Freljord warrior. This skin flips that completely.

The Lunar Revel: Firecracker skinline is one of Riot’s recurring themes. Sejuani fits it better than you’d expect. The boar-to-pig transformation is clever, not forced. Could be wrong here but I think this is one of the more creative champion-to-skinline matches in the whole Firecracker set.

7 chromas available. Obsidian is my go-to, the dark color scheme against the festival decorations creates this cool contrast that reads well on the Rift. Golden Tiger goes hard too, they released that one later for the Year of the Tiger event I think. Citrine keeps things warm and festive if you want to lean into the theme harder. Legacy vault skin, so you’ll need to wait for the vault rotation or get lucky with Hextech crafting.

Should you buy Firecracker Sejuani?

Real verdict: if you play Sejuani with any regularity, this is worth tracking down. 1350 RP is standard Epic pricing and the skin earns it. The VFX overhaul alone justifies the cost. Not every Sejuani skin commits this hard to a theme while keeping the gameplay feel intact.

(Random aside: I once had a support Sejuani in my ranked game running this skin and she just perma-ganked mid with the Q charge fireworks going off every 30 seconds. Tilted the enemy Katarina off the planet.) The competition in Sejuani’s skin catalog is decent. Bear Cavalry is iconic, Project is solid. But Firecracker Sejuani brings a personality that the others dont touch. It’s colorful without being obnoxious. Festive without being gimmicky.

For Sejuani mains climbing through ranked, this skin just works. The VFX are clear, the model is distinct, and the whole package feels complete for an Epic tier skin. Worth 1350 RP if you main Sejuani. If you’re not a Sejuani player, probably skip it. But if you see it pop up in the Legacy rotation or roll it from a chest, lock it in.
