Traditional Sejuani

First time I saw Traditional Sejuani pop up in a loading screen I had to double-take. Felt like loading into a ranked game from season 3. Not gonna lie, there’s something about this skin that just hits if you played Sejuani before the visual rework. The whole point is preservation, not innovation, and thats exactly why it works.

What Traditional Sejuani actually keeps

So this is a Standard tier skin at 975 RP and it does something unusual for that price point. Instead of adding new stuff, it preserves the old Sejuani design from before Riot rebuilt her model. You get the pre-rework look: the exposed armor, Bristle looking more like a giant boar than the armored war mount he became. Skinnier silhouette. Less bulk. More barbarian queen energy.

The model changes are significant for a 975 skin. Sejuani herself has the classic fur-and-metal outfit, way less plate armor than her current base. Bristle is brown-furred and unarmored, which honestly reads cleaner in lane than you’d expect. No new VFX on abilities, your Q charge and R glacial prison look the same as base. Voice lines stay base. No recall animation refresh either.

Been running this in Diamond last season and I think the simpler visual profile actually helps with readability. Could be wrong here but her ult feels easier to track against the Rift when theres less visual noise on her model. Played maybe 30 games with it during a Sejuani jungle phase I had around February and the lack of visual clutter grew on me. Simple change – huge impact on how clean she looks in teamfights.

The Traditional line and release context

Traditional Sejuani dropped April 30, 2013. Right when Riot did the big Sejuani VGU. Bo ‘chenbowow’ Chen handled the artwork, and credit where it’s due, the splash captures the old vibe perfectly. Bristle mid-charge through snow, Sejuani looking raw and unpolished. Banger splash honestly.

The Traditional skinline exists specifically for champions who got full visual reworks. Trundle and Karma got Traditional skins the same way. It’s Riot’s way of saying “hey we changed everything but here’s the old look if you want it.” Legacy vault skin now, so you cant just grab it from the shop whenever. You either need to wait for the vault to open or get lucky rolling it from Hextech crafting.

Should you pick this up?

Real verdict: this skin is pure nostalgia fuel. If you started playing after 2013 its just a slightly different Sejuani model with less armor. Nothing special. But if you remember the old design, if you played her pre-rework, if you have opinions about which Bristle looks better, then this is the only way to get that back.

975 RP feels fair for what you get, considering it’s a full model swap. Voice pack is base only, no new particles, no recall. Standard pricing for a Standard skin. The catch is availability. Sits in the Legacy pool so you might need patience or luck. Seen maybe two of these in my games all season, probably fewer. Most Sejuani players I run into in comp go for Bear Cavalry or Project.

Skip this unless you already main Sejuani and have that pre-rework connection. For everyone else, there’s better options in her catalog for the RP. But for the one-tricks who remember the old days? Keep coming back to this. It’s the only Sejuani skin that feels like a time capsule from early League, and sometimes that’s worth more than new VFX. Not every skin needs to reinvent the champion. Sometimes keeping the old version alive is enough.
