First game I played with Firecracker Poppy was around 1 AM on a weeknight, queued up for a Diamond ranked match on a whim. Locked in Poppy top, loaded the splash, and honestly the Lunar Revel aesthetic hit me harder than I expected. The red and gold palette pops clean on the Rift. Short yordle in festival armor swinging a giant firework hammer. Thats the kind of energy I want in my solo queue games.

How Firecracker Poppy looks in game

So the model swap is the main draw here. Poppy gets a full outfit change into traditional Lunar Revel festival gear with gold trim and red accents everywhere. The hammer redesign is solid, it looks like a massive firework rocket strapped to a stick. Fits the Firecracker theme without going overboard.

Voice lines stay base. No new VO on this one. For an Epic skin at 1350 RP thats pretty standard, but I do think Poppy’s base voice holds up well enough that it doesnt feel like a loss. Her personality carries through regardless.

Not gonna lie, the particle work is where I expected more. The skin data says no new VFX which is unusual for a 1350 RP tier skin. Been playing Poppy on and off since season 10 and most Epics at this price point come with at least recolored abilities. The Q slam, the W shield, the E charge into walls – they all read the same as base in terms of effects. Might be overthinking it but for the price you’d want at least some sparkler particles on the ult. Could be wrong here but I think the model quality compensates somewhat.

The recall animation stays default too. No firework celebration, no festive dance. Just standard Poppy recall. For comparison, Astronaut Poppy and Bewitching Poppy both got custom recalls at the same price tier. Feels like Firecracker Poppy got the short end on features.

The Firecracker line and where Poppy fits

The Lunar Revel: Firecracker skinline is one of Riot’s recurring seasonal themes. Been around for years at this point. Firecracker Vayne, Firecracker Jinx, Firecracker Sejuani – the lineup runs deep. Poppy joining the roster makes sense thematically. The yordle with the giant hammer lighting up the festival. Good fit.

No splash artist credited in the data for this one. Whoever handled it though, the composition works. Poppy mid-swing with fireworks exploding behind her, golden dragon motifs in the background. Solid festival energy.

Shop has it. Permanent availability so you can grab Firecracker Poppy whenever. No vault rotation or Hextech gambling required. 1350 RP is the standard Epic price and honestly given the feature set on this particular skin I think it sits on the lower end of value for that bracket. (Random aside: my buddy who one-tricks Poppy jungle still prefers Star Guardian over every other option and I cant really argue with him.)

Chromas and which ones matter

8 chromas total on Firecracker Poppy. Thats a full spread. Obsidian is the standout for me, the dark color scheme against the festival armor creates this contrast that reads really well in lane. Rose Quartz leans into a softer pink aesthetic that I think looks cleaner than the base red and gold combo in certain lighting on Summoner’s Rift.

Sapphire shifts the whole vibe toward a cooler palette. Played maybe 15 games with it last season in Diamond and the blue tones actually make Poppy’s model easier to track in chaotic teamfights. Real talk though, most of the chromas are just color swaps on the same model with no additional changes to particles since there’s no custom VFX to recolor in the first place.

Should you buy Firecracker Poppy?

Straight talk: Firecracker Poppy is a model-only skin at a 1350 RP price point. The outfit redesign looks great, the Lunar Revel theme suits Poppy well, and if you main her in top lane or jungle you’ll enjoy the aesthetic change. But the missing VFX, unchanged recall, and base voice lines make this a hard sell against skins like Hextech Poppy or Bewitching Poppy that deliver more for similar or lower cost.

Worth 1350 RP if you main Poppy and specifically love the Lunar Revel aesthetic. Otherwise wait for a sale or check the chroma bundle if the base doesn’t grab you. Been running this in ranked for a couple weeks and keep coming back to Bewitching as my default. The skin looks good standing still but in motion during ganks and engages it just doesn’t differentiate enough from base Poppy where it counts. Skip this unless the Firecracker line is your thing or you’re collecting every Poppy skin. Season 12 I think is when I stopped caring about completion and started only buying skins that actually change how the champion feels to play.
