Battle Bat Vayne

First game I played with Battle Bat Vayne was around 2 AM on a Saturday, season 12. Locked it in for a Diamond ranked game and immediately noticed the silhouette change. Not gonna lie, the bat-wing aesthetic on an ADC just hits different when you’re kiting backwards through a teamfight. Vayne already has one of the cleanest auto-attack animations in the game, and the Anima Squad treatment adds enough flair without messing with the muscle memory.

What the Anima Squad treatment does for Vayne

The VFX carry this skin hard. Her Q tumble leaves behind a purple-pink trail that reads cleanly against the Rift, and the W proc rings pop with that signature Anima Squad energy. Been running this in Diamond for a while now and the Silver Bolts indicator is actually easier to track than base Vayne’s, which matters when you’re trying to proc third hits on a diving Kayn.

Condemn looks solid. Not groundbreaking, but the bolt itself has a satisfying weight to it. The R transformation is where Battle Bat Vayne shines though. The bat wings extend during Final Hour, giving the stealth-tumble sequence a real predator vibe. Kinda feels like Riot designed the ult visuals first and built the rest of the skin around that moment.

Recall animation is new. Vayne strikes a pose with some holographic bat imagery. Clean execution, nothing too long or annoying. Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Standard for a 1350 RP Epic. The auto-attack sound effects have a slight tech edge to them, almost mecha-adjacent but softer. Played maybe 150 games with this skin and the sound design never got old, which I cant say about every Epic tier Vayne skin.

Anima Squad, the splash, and those chromas

Battle Bat Vayne dropped March 31, 2022. Part of the Anima Squad skinline, which went for this whole anime-military aesthetic. Jennifer Wuestling nailed the splash. The composition puts Vayne front and center with the bat motif framing everything behind her.

The Anima Squad line is one of Riot’s more divisive themes. Some people love the over-the-top magical girl meets military squad direction, others think its too busy. For Vayne specifically, the bat angle works because she already has that night hunter fantasy baked into her kit. Natural fit.

9 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to, the dark colorway strips away the pink and leans into the predator look. Nightwire has this orange and blue split that reads almost like a completely different skin in game. Rose Quartz softens everything up if you want the full magical girl experience. Could be wrong here but I think Nightwire was an event-exclusive chroma, so check if its still available before you get attached to it.

Is Battle Bat Vayne worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX across the kit, solid recall, strong splash. No new voice lines, but thats the standard at this price point. (Random aside: the loading screen art for this skin has been my Discord profile picture since it came out and nobody has questioned it.)

If you main Vayne, this competes directly with Project and Spirit Blossom. Project leans heavier into the tech fantasy, Spirit Blossom is the weeb pick, and Battle Bat sits in this middle ground. Best Vayne skin for players who want something stylish without going full anime. Been daily driving this over Dragonslayer and Dawnbringer for two seasons now.

Skip it if you already own Spirit Blossom and dont play Vayne enough to justify two Epic skins. But for Vayne mains specifically, this belongs in the rotation. The ult visuals alone earned it a permanent spot in my champion select. That ranked game last week where I kited a Garen and Darius simultaneously through dragon pit, the bat wings during Final Hour made the outplay look twice as clean. Shop has it, grab whenever. Worth the RP if you main Vayne.
