First game I played with Battle Bunny Aurora was around 3 AM on release night, queued into a Diamond lobby where nobody had seen her kit yet let alone the skin. Locked in, loaded up, and the splash alone had my duo asking where to buy it. Not gonna lie, the Anima Squad line has some misses but this one caught me off guard. Aurora already has a strange, fae-like vibe in her base design and slapping the Battle Bunny aesthetic on top of that just works in a way I wasnt expecting.
What the skin actually changes
So Battle Bunny Aurora gets the full Epic treatment at 1350 RP. New VFX across the board and a fresh recall animation. Voice lines stay base, no new VO here. The Q projectile swaps to this sharp pink-and-white energy trail that reads cleaner than the default, especially in teamfight chaos where you need to track your abilities through five other particle effects. Her W shimmer zone picks up the Anima Squad color palette: bright magentas, soft whites, the whole futuristic bunny soldier thing.
E is where it gets interesting. The dash leaves behind this holographic afterimage that fits the mecha-bunny fantasy way harder than base Aurora’s wispy spirit trail. Feels like playing a different champion honestly. Her R zone gets the pink energy dome treatment and in a tight dragon pit fight last week I actually found it easier to see the boundary compared to default. Could be wrong here but I think the contrast against Summoner’s Rift terrain is just better with these colors.
The recall is cute. Standard Anima Squad energy, Aurora does this little combat pose with the bunny ears glowing. Short, clean, no complaints. (Random aside: my friend screenshots every Battle Bunny recall for his Discord server and this one made the top 5 apparently.)
Anima Squad, the artist, and release context
Battle Bunny Aurora dropped July 17, 2024. Right in the middle of summer, two patches after Aurora herself launched. Fortune ‘Fortuneee’ K nailed the splash, the composition pulls your eye straight to the mecha-bunny armor while keeping Aurora’s face expressive. Anima Squad as a skinline has been growing since the original Battle Bunny batch. Some of the older Anima Squad skins feel generic but the newer entries like this one lean harder into the sci-fi military angle.
9 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to for ranked because the dark tones make the VFX pop without being distracting. Nightwire has this orange-and-blue split that looks wild in loading screen but honestly reads a bit messy in game. Rose Quartz is the safe pick if you want something softer than the base pink. Been running Obsidian in Diamond for most of this season and havent switched back.
Permanent shop availability. 1350 RP, standard Epic pricing. Sits in the shop whenever you want it.
Who should pick this up
Real verdict: Battle Bunny Aurora is a solid first skin for a champion that didnt have many options at launch. If you main Aurora or even just have her in your flex pool for mid or top, 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX upgrade alone makes abilities easier to track in lane and in late-game teamfights where peel and disengage matter.
Kinda feels like Riot put extra effort into this one knowing Aurora was brand new and needed a strong cosmetic debut. Compared to some Epic skins that phone it in with minimal particle changes, Battle Bunny Aurora delivers on the visual overhaul. The Anima Squad theme gives her personality that base Aurora’s muted color scheme lacks.
Skip it if you’re waiting for something darker or more serious for Aurora. But if the Battle Bunny aesthetic clicks for you at all, this is the Aurora skin to own right now. Spammed this in maybe 30 games across two weeks after release and the novelty hasnt worn off. Top pick for Aurora mains, easy recommendation. Season 14 I think this was, right when everyone was still figuring out her kit in ranked. Good times.
