Not gonna lie, when FPX Vayne dropped I wasnt sure what to expect. Worlds skins are hit or miss historically and Vayne already had a stacked wardrobe by 2020. But FunPlus Phoenix’s color scheme – that deep black and orange-red – translates surprisingly well onto Vayne’s silhouette. Played maybe 30 games with this skin the first week it came out just to see if the novelty would wear off.
How FPX Vayne actually looks in game
The model swap is clean. Vayne gets this dark bodysuit with gold and red accents, FPX logo worked into the design without being overkill. The crossbow redesign is the standout piece for me. Sleek, angular, feels like it belongs in a pro player’s hands. The cape has this subtle movement that catches light differently depending on which side of the Rift you’re on.
VFX got a full rework for an Epic tier skin. Her Q tumble leaves behind these orange-red trails that read well in teamfights. The W Silver Bolts proc pops with the FPX color palette, and honestly I think it’s easier to track your three-hit passive with this skin compared to base. Could be wrong here but the visual clarity on the proc feels better. Her E Condemn bolt has new particles too, gold and crimson streaking across the lane.
The R Night Hunter transformation is where the skin shines hardest. Final Hour activates and the whole color scheme intensifies. The stealth trails during ult feel premium. Been running this in Diamond ADC games and the ult VFX genuinely make you feel like you’re in a Worlds finals highlight reel. Big moment energy.
Recall animation is custom. Vayne does this victory pose with the FPX banner, which is a nice touch for anyone who watched the 2019 World Championship. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but that’s standard for Worlds skins at this price point.
The 2019 Worlds line and where FPX Vayne fits
Released April 30, 2020. Right in the middle of season 10. Pan Chengwei handled the artwork and the splash captures that post-victory confidence perfectly. The World Champions 2019 skinline came out for the full FPX roster – Gangplank, Lee Sin, Thresh, Malphite all got their own versions alongside Vayne.
The World Champions 2019 set has a consistent aesthetic. Dark base with those signature FPX reds and golds running through everything. Vayne’s version might be the most wearable of the bunch. (Random aside: I still think about Lwx’s Vayne games in that finals run, the skin hits different when you remember the context.)
There’s 1 chroma available, the Elite variant. It shifts the palette toward deeper blacks with crimson red accents. Kinda feels like the “tryhard” version of an already aggressive looking skin. The Elite chroma is solid if you want something darker than the base orange-gold scheme.
This one sits in the Legacy vault now. Legacy catalog skin, so you cant just grab it whenever. Gotta wait for Worlds events or get lucky with Hextech crafting. Seen maybe 4 or 5 of these in my ranked games all season, which tracks for a vault skin from 2020.
Is FPX Vayne worth 1350 RP?
Real verdict: this is a strong Epic skin that suffers from one problem. Vayne has too many good skins. You’re competing against PROJECT, Spirit Blossom, Dragonslayer for your main Vayne skin slot. FPX Vayne does everything right at the 1350 RP price point. New VFX on every ability, custom recall, clean model. No complaints on execution.
The question is whether you care about the esports connection. Last Tuesday I was duo queueing with my support main and he pointed out that nobody remembers which Worlds skin belongs to which year anymore. Fair point. But if you were watching Lwx pop off on Vayne in 2019 and the World Champions 2019 line means something to you, this skin carries that memory well.
For Vayne mains specifically, its a rotation piece. Not your everyday lock-in but a nice changeup when you want something different from the flashier options. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get, especially if it comes back during a Worlds event sale. Skip it if you already own Spirit Blossom or PROJECT and dont need another Vayne skin in the collection. Worth it if you’re a completionist or the FPX era means something to your ranked journey.
