First game I played with Worldbreaker Sion was around 3 AM on a Tuesday, just after it dropped in April 2020. Locked it in for a ranked game on autopilot. The loading screen splash hit me before anything else did. Zuoan Dong and Kudos Productions handled the artwork, and they captured something primal about Sion that base skin never quite gets across. Huge Mayan-temple energy. Stone carvings and glowing green magic running through his body like veins. Not gonna lie, I sat on the loading screen longer than usual just taking it in.

What Worldbreaker Sion actually brings to the table

So the VFX overhaul is where the 1350 RP earns its keep. His Q channel has this green stone-crack effect spreading across the ground. Feels heavier than base. When you’re charging that thing up in a bush waiting for their ADC to walk into lane, the particles sell the moment. The full-charge knockup looks like youre splitting the earth open.

W shield gets a jade barrier visual. Clean read, not too busy. E shout sends out this carved stone projectile instead of the default. Looks meaner. Ult is the real showpiece though. Sion’s already terrifying when he’s sprinting at you with Unstoppable Onslaught, but the Worldbreaker version adds these trailing green energy lines and ground cracks behind him. Ran it down mid in a Diamond game last season and the enemy Lux just flash-ulted in panic before I even reached her. The skin does psychological damage.

Recall animation is new too. Sion slams his axe into the ground and summons some kind of ancient stone monument. Fits the whole apocalyptic destroyer theme the Worldbreaker line goes for. (Random aside: I use the recall cancel to flex the animation start in lane when Im zoning.)

Voice lines stay base. No VO refresh on this one, which is standard for Epic tier. Scott McNeil’s original performance still holds up fine so its not a dealbreaker.

The Worldbreaker line and where Sion fits

Worldbreaker as a skinline pulls from Mesoamerican mythology. Think ancient gods, stone temples, world-ending rituals. Sion fits naturally because the champion is already built around this unstoppable juggernaut fantasy. Released April 9, 2020, mid season 10. The line already had Trundle, Nasus, Hecarim, and a few others by that point. Might be overthinking it but I think Sion is the best executed of the set. Trundle’s version is fine, Nasus works thematically, but Sion just looks like he was designed for this concept from day one.

7 chromas total if you want variety. Obsidian is my pick, goes full dark stone aesthetic that reads cleanly against the Rift. Amethyst shifts the green energy to purple which hits different on a mage-build Sion game. Rose Quartz is surprisingly clean too, the pink-and-stone contrast shouldn’t work but it does. Rest of them are solid but those three stood out across maybe 50 games of testing.

Permanent shop. Grab it any time, no vault rotation to worry about.

Is Worldbreaker Sion worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you play Sion with any regularity this is a strong pickup. Been maining Sion with this skin on and off since season 10 and it still holds up four years later. The VFX work carries it. New particles on every ability, solid recall, a theme that actually makes sense for the champion. Could be wrong here but I think it edges out Mecha Zero for pure visual clarity in teamfights, even though Mecha Zero is technically a higher tier skin.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Standard Epic pricing, above-average execution. The chromas add replay value if you like switching things up between games. Only real knock is no new voice lines, but thats the norm at this price point.

Skip it if you already own Blackfrost or High Noon and only want one Sion skin in rotation. But for Sion mains building a collection, Worldbreaker belongs in the top three. Played maybe 200 games with this thing across ranked and normals. Keep coming back to it even after picking up newer options. The Q charge alone in a bush during a gank just feels right with those stone-crack particles spreading out. Top pick for Sion mains who want their engage to look as threatening as it actually is.
