Victorious Master Yi

First game I loaded this up was around 3 AM after the ranked season ended. Had to see what Riot cooked for the season 2024 reward and honestly not gonna lie, Master Yi getting the Victorious treatment felt overdue. The Wuju swordsman finally got his gold and blue royal armor. Clean model, solid recall animation, and enough VFX changes to make it feel earned after grinding ranked all year.

What Victorious Master Yi actually brings

The model swap is what you notice first. Master Yi trades his usual gear for ornate gold-trimmed armor with deep blue accents. Very on brand for the Victorious line. The helmet redesign is probably the strongest part visually. Regal without being over the top.

New VFX across the kit make this feel like more than just a texture swap. Alpha Strike particles carry that golden Victorious energy now. Meditate has a cleaner glow to it. The E activation reads well in teamfights, which matters when you’re diving the backline at Mach speed. Wuju Style pops harder than base.

Recall animation is new too. Standard Victorious flex energy. Been running this in Diamond since January and the recall gets the point across without dragging on forever. Short, clean, fits the vibe.

Voice lines stay base though. No VO refresh. Micha Berman’s original performance carries it fine but a Legendary this is not. For a ranked reward skin thats about what you’d expect.

The Victorious line and season 2024

Victorious Master Yi dropped January 9, 2025. End of season 2024 ranked reward. Su Fu and Kudos Productions handled the splash art, they nailed the composition. Master Yi posed with that classic Victorious energy, sword forward, armor gleaming. The Victorious skinline has been going since Jarvan IV back in season 1 and this one sits comfortably in the middle of the pack quality wise.

Special pricing here means you cant buy it. Legacy vault skin now. If you hit Gold or above in season 2024 ranked, you got it. If you didnt, hextech crafting is your only shot these days. (Random sidebar: the fact that Riot chose Yi for this reward probably tilted half the playerbase who spent all season getting Q’d under tower by a fed Master Yi in solo queue.)

9 chromas total and they’re all rank-based. Bronze and Silver for the lower tiers, Gold for the Gold players obviously. The Diamond chroma hits different with that purple tint, been using it exclusively since I qualified. Challenger chroma has that deep blue that only maybe 300 people on each server actually earned legitimately. Master chroma runs a magenta shade that reads clean against the Rift.

Should you care about Victorious Master Yi?

Real verdict: if you earned it, you already have it. The skin does enough for a free ranked reward. VFX changes, new recall, solid model update. Could be wrong here but I think this ranks above Victorious Blitzcrank and below Victorious Graves in the overall Victorious tier list.

For Master Yi mains who grinded ranked all of season 14, this is a trophy skin. Lock it in for your ranked games. The rank chromas let you flex exactly how high you climbed. Played maybe 40 games with the Diamond chroma last split and it feels right for the comp. Not a skin that’ll make you a better player but one that proves you already put the time in. Fair reward for the grind, nothing more nothing less.
