First time I loaded into a game with PROJECT Senna I sat in fountain for like three seconds just watching the idle animation. The whole cybernetic frame, the way her cannon reconfigures during recall. Felt like a different champion for a moment. Been running this skin in Diamond ranked since around patch 11.11 and it still holds up years later. Not gonna lie, it might be the cleanest Epic tier skin Senna has.
What actually changes on PROJECT Senna
The model rework is substantial for 1350 RP. Senna gets a full cyberpunk overhaul with segmented armor plating, a visor that covers half her face, and her relic cannon transforms into this sleek railgun-looking thing. The color palette leans into teal and white with orange accent lighting. Clean.
VFX got a complete refresh. Her Q healing beam fires as a concentrated data stream with hexagonal particles. W roots targets with these digital chains that look way more satisfying than base. The E shroud becomes this glitchy camouflage field, kinda feels like youre walking through corrupted code. Hard to describe but it reads well in teamfights when you need to peel for your ADC.
Her ult is where PROJECT Senna really earns it. The global beam fires with a wide holographic targeting overlay and the impact zone lights up with circuit-board patterns. Played maybe 40 games last Tuesday night into Wednesday morning and I kept finding new little details in the R animation. The shield particles on allies look techy and distinct from base, which actually matters for gameplay clarity in a five-person comp.
New recall animation too. Senna interfaces with some kind of PROJECT terminal, her cannon docks into it and reconfigures. Standard voice lines though, no VO refresh. Could be wrong here but I think a voice filter would have pushed this into must-buy territory for every Senna main on the Rift.
The PROJECT line and release context
PROJECT Senna dropped May 27, 2021. Late season 11 if I remember right, or maybe early into the second half. West Studio handled the artwork, and they nailed that cyberpunk atmosphere in the splash. The way the city lights reflect off her armor plating in the background is something else.
The PROJECT skinline is one of Riot’s longest running themes at this point. Senna fits the fantasy naturally since her cannon already has that mechanical energy in base. PROJECT leans into augmented humans fighting corporate dystopia, and Senna’s whole sentinel-of-light thing translates well into the resistance fighter archetype.
9 chromas total for this one. Obsidian is my personal pick, the dark frame with subtle highlights reads clean against the Rift and doesnt give away your position as hard in lane. Reckoning has that orange and dark teal contrast that feels like a whole different skin. Amethyst shifts the palette into purple territory which hits the mage-support fantasy harder than the base teal. (Random aside: I’ve had teammates ask me if Reckoning was a different skin entirely, had to explain chromas to a Kayn jungle who’d been playing since season 8.)
Is PROJECT Senna worth 1350 RP?
Real verdict: for Senna mains this is a strong pickup. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX across every ability, solid recall, good model work. The Q and R particles alone make it worth locking in over base.
Competition is stiff though. High Noon Senna exists. True Damage exists with that prestige variant. Been maining Senna with PROJECT since season 12 specifically and I keep coming back to it over the alternatives because the VFX clarity is better in ranked. When you’re trying to hit a cross-map ult to save your bot lane, the targeting overlay on PROJECT just reads cleaner than the western theme on High Noon.
Might be overthinking it but I think PROJECT is the best pure-gameplay Senna skin. Not the flashiest splash, not the biggest flex in champ select. But in actual games, spamming Q poke in lane, threading W roots through minion waves, dropping E for a jungle invade around 2 AM in a Diamond lobby – this is the skin that performs. Shop has it permanently. Skip it if you already own True Damage prestige, grab it if you dont have a dedicated Senna skin yet. S-tier Senna cosmetic for the price point, simple as that.
