Warhound Senna

First time I saw Warhound Senna on the PBE cycle I thought Riot finally gave Senna a skin that matches the aggression you feel locking her in for a ranked game. Not some celestial guardian, not some pop star fantasy. Just raw, armored, ready to fight. Loaded it up in a Diamond lobby around midnight and the model alone had my support duo asking what skin that was.

What Warhound Senna actually brings to the table

So this is an Epic tier skin, which means you’re getting a new model and textures but base voice lines stay default. No VO refresh. The Warhounds thematic gives Senna this militarized beast-handler look – heavy plating, war-torn aesthetic, the kind of design that reads well from the backline during teamfights. Her cannon gets a redesign that feels chunkier, more grounded. Not gonna lie, the auto attack animations feel snappier with this model even though nothing mechanically changed.

Q poke in lane looks the same particle-wise but the model silhouette during the wind-up is cleaner against dark Rift terrain. Her W root – same VFX as base. E shroud, unchanged. R is still the global beam with default particles. Kinda feels like Riot could have pushed the visual identity harder on abilities, but the model work carries it.

The recall is base Senna’s recall. No new animation there. For an Epic skin thats pretty standard, and honestly the splash and in-game model do enough heavy lifting that I dont mind the missing recall flair. Been running this in ranked for maybe 15 games now and the skin reads well at every stage of the game. Pre-6 laning phase, the darker color palette blends into bot lane bushes better visually – not a gameplay advantage obviously, but it feels right.

The Warhounds line and where Senna fits

Warhounds is one of Riot’s more recent skinlines. Military fantasy with a beastmaster edge. Senna fits the line naturally because her whole champion identity is about carrying this massive weapon into fights. The Warhounds treatment strips away the Sentinel lore and replaces it with something grittier.

(Random aside: my friend who one-tricks Senna immediately set this as her default over High Noon and thats saying something because High Noon Senna is a Legendary.)

8 chromas total for Warhound Senna. Tanzanite is the one I keep coming back to – deep purple tones that separate it from every other Senna skin in my collection. Fearless Fang goes aggressive with the orange and dark red combo, gives off a fire-forged vibe. Ruby is fine but honestly with this many chromas sharing the Ruby name across hundreds of skins it stops feeling special. Could be wrong here but I think Tanzanite alone justifies picking up the chroma bundle.

Shop has it. Permanent availability, so no vault anxiety. Standard Epic pricing puts it at 1350 RP which feels fair for the model quality you’re getting. Not sure if splash artist info dropped publicly for this one but whoever handled it captured the Warhounds energy – Senna mid-stride, cannon raised, war dogs flanking. Strong composition.

Should you buy Warhound Senna?

Real verdict: if you main Senna and you’re tired of the flashier legendary options eating your RP, this Epic sits in a sweet spot. 1350 RP well spent for mains. The model is clean, the thematic is distinct from everything else in her catalog, and the chromas give you actual variety instead of palette swaps that all look the same at a glance.

Where it falls short is ability VFX. Been playing Senna since season 10 I think and every Epic skin has this same limitation – you’re paying for the outfit, not the light show. If ability particles matter to you, Lunar Eclipse or Project Senna handle that better. But for pure model and splash quality? Warhound competes with skins twice its price point.

Skip it if you already have three or four Senna skins in rotation and dont feel the military fantasy. Top pick for Senna mains who want something that looks serious in champ select instead of glamorous. Last Tuesday I had a Kayn jungle and a Naafiri mid both running Warhound skins in the same comp – the whole Warhounds squad hitting the Rift together is a vibe I didnt know I needed. Simple change from her usual aesthetic – huge impact on how the champion feels to pilot.
