Prestige Lunar Eclipse Senna

Been maining Senna on and off since her release and I remember the exact moment this skin showed up in the client. Late April 2022, season 12 was in full swing, and Riot dropped the Prestige version of Lunar Eclipse. Locked it in immediately. No hesitation.

Not gonna lie, Prestige skins can be hit or miss. Some feel like lazy recolors with a gold filter slapped on top. This one actually earns its Mythic status. The white and gold palette on Senna reads completely different from the base Lunar Eclipse version, and in my Diamond games the distinction matters more than you’d think. Clarity on the Rift is everything when you’re trying to peel for your ADC in a late-game teamfight.

What Prestige Lunar Eclipse actually changes

The VFX overhaul carries over from the standard Lunar Eclipse but gets the full Prestige treatment. Golden particles on everything. Her Q heal shoots out this warm amber light that honestly looks cleaner than most Legendary effects. The W root has these celestial rings that expand outward, white and gold instead of the darker Eclipse tones. Pretty striking in lane.

Her ult is where it gets real. Global Senna ult with Prestige VFX cutting across the map in bright gold. Played maybe 40 games with this skin the first two weeks it dropped and every single time the R visual made my team react in chat. “Nice skin” or whatever. Small thing but it hits different when youre channeling that beam across bot lane and the particles just pop against the terrain.

Recall animation is custom too. Senna does this whole celestial stance, weapon planted, light cascading around her. Short and clean. Not over the top like some recalls that take forever to loop. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is fine for a Prestige. Cynthia Kaye McWilliams did solid work on the original voice pack and it fits the Eclipse fantasy well enough.

(Random aside: I set the splash as my Discord profile picture for like three months straight and nobody questioned it. Thats how clean it looks.)

The Eclipse line and how Prestige fits in

Eclipse is one of Riot’s stronger skinlines. Period. The whole sun versus moon duality thing gives them room to play with contrasting palettes, and Senna got the Lunar side originally. Dark purples, deep blues, cosmic energy. The Prestige flips that into something brighter without losing the Eclipse identity.

Julia Yurtsev nailed the splash. The composition puts Senna front and center with her cannon raised, gold armor reflecting light from every angle. Released April 28, 2022, right at the tail end of the Eclipse event that season. If you were grinding tokens back then you know the pain. Could be wrong here but I think the pass required something like 2000 tokens for the Prestige, which meant spamming ranked for two weeks straight.

No chromas on this one, which makes sense. Prestige skins are already the premium variant, adding chromas on top would dilute the whole point. You get the white and gold package, take it or leave it.

This Mythic skin sits in a weird availability spot. Available through Mythic Essence rotation in the shop, so you’re not locked out forever, but you do need to save up or get lucky with drops. Seen maybe 5 of these total in my games all season, which keeps it feeling exclusive. Last Tuesday I ran into another Senna main rocking it in solo queue and we had a moment in champ select. You know how it is.

How it stacks up against other Senna skins

Senna has a stacked wardrobe at this point. True Damage was her launch skin and still holds up. High Noon Senna goes hard with the western fantasy. PROJECT fits the marksman vibe. But Prestige Lunar Eclipse occupies this specific niche where elegance meets gameplay clarity.

Might be overthinking it but the gold particles on her passive stacks are genuinely easier to track than some of her darker skins. When you’re collecting souls in a busy teamfight, that visibility matters. Season 12 or 13, dont remember exactly, I switched back and forth between this and High Noon for about 50 games and kept coming back to Prestige Eclipse. The auto attack animations feel smooth, the Q poke reads well, and the E shroud in gold is chef’s kiss.

For support Senna players specifically, the heal visual on Q stands out to your ADC. Had a Jinx last week in Diamond tell me “your heals look different” and it was literally just the Prestige VFX doing its job. Tiny detail. Huge feel.

The honest take

Special pricing means you’re investing Mythic Essence, not RP. That changes the calculus. You’re not dropping 1820 RP on a whim, you’re spending a currency that could go toward other Prestige or Mythic options. For Senna mains? Worth it. S-tier Senna cosmetic. The Eclipse skinline carries it, Julia Yurtsev’s splash carries it, and the in-game VFX carry it.

If you only play Senna occasionally, save your Essence for a champion you actually one-trick. Real talk though, if Senna is your go-to support or fasting ADC pick, this is the skin. Been daily driving it in ranked this split and I keep finding new angles where the gold particles catch light on the Rift. Grinded ranked with this for months and the novelty still hasnt worn off.
