Gold efficiency
| Stat | Amount | Gold per point | Gold value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Health | 200 | 2.67 g | 533 g |
| Base Health Regen % | 75 | 3 g | 225 g |
| Base Mana Regen % | 75 | 4 g | 300 g |
| Total stat value | 1058 g |
Gold efficiency = stat value ÷ item cost = 1058 ÷ 400 = 265%. The gold per point comes from basic items of the same patch (for example, Long Sword: 35 g per Attack Damage). Passives and actives are not counted, and neither are Gold Per 10 Seconds (no basic item sells this stat alone).

We compare cost and stats patch by patch in Riot's Data Dragon files. "Effect text changed" means the passive or active wording changed in that patch.
Dream Maker is the enchanter’s version of the League of Legends support quest item in patch 26.21: 200 Health, 9 gold per 10 seconds and 75% Base Health and Mana Regen, the same block as its four siblings, with a passive that sends Dream Bubbles to any ally you heal or shield for 3 seconds, so their next attack deals bonus magic damage and the following hit on them lands softer. It carries 4 ward charges on the active and costs only the 400 gold you paid for the World Atlas.
What does Dream Maker do?
It makes your heals and shields do two extra things. Cast one on a teammate and for 3 seconds they carry Dream Bubbles: their next basic attack gains bonus magic damage on hit, and the next instance of damage they take shrinks.
Neither number appears in Riot’s data text (the in-game tooltip lists a flat amount for each, both growing with level), and neither is large on its own. The strength is frequency. A Lulu who shields every trade, a Janna who tops up her marksman after each poke, a Sona who heals on cooldown, all of them refresh the bubbles constantly, and over a lane that is dozens of small damage boosts and dozens of small hits absorbed. Does it work on yourself? No, the text says another ally, so self-shields do nothing for it. Thing is, this is exactly why it suits enchanters and nobody else: the passive only has value if you spend most of your buttons on other people.
Is it gold efficient?
Like every quest upgrade, absurdly so: 265%. 200 Health, 75% Base Health Regen and 75% Base Mana Regen price out at 1,058 gold, against the 400 gold Atlas.
The income is the real value and it has no line in the reference table, so the number understates things rather than inflating them. Sure, all five upgrades share that figure, which makes it useless for choosing between them. If we’re being picky, the mana regen matters a touch more on this one than on the others, because enchanters cast more often in lane than tanks do and the regen is what keeps a Sona from base-rushing at level four.
How do you get it?
By finishing the quest on a World Atlas. Buy it before minions spawn, earn the quest gold by hitting enemy champions and by sharing your laner’s last hits, then pick one of five free upgrades when the shop prompts you. It is the one with the bubble icon. Pick carefully. You cannot undo the choice within the match, and the item neither builds from nor into anything else, so that recall settles the slot until the nexus falls. The 160 gold sell price exists in the data and nowhere else in practice.
Who should choose Dream Maker?
Enchanters, full stop: Lulu, Janna, Soraka, Sona, Nami, Karma, Yuumi, Milio, Seraphine and Renata Glasc, anyone whose main spells land on allies. A Nami or a Karma with a strong slow could argue for Solstice Sleigh, and the argument is fair when the lane is about chasing rather than protecting (on a Nami paired with a Caitlyn, honestly, go Sleigh). Tanks and hook champions have no business with it, since a Nautilus almost never shields anyone, and poke mages want Zaz’Zak’s Realmspike. Who else? A Taric or a Braum who shields allies often enough can make it work, but Celestial Opposition usually serves a front-liner better.
A quick test. Count how many of your abilities target or shield a teammate. Two or more, take it; one, think about it; zero, look elsewhere.
How has Dream Maker changed over the patches?
Three entries in the data since it launched in patch 14.1 with the rest of the World Atlas family:
- Patches 14.2 and 14.21: Effect text changed, both adjustments to the Dream Bubbles damage and damage reduction wording.
- Patch 26.1: Gold Per 10 Seconds up from 5 to 9, a season-start income change shared across all five upgrades.
Long story short, the stats have not moved since launch, and Riot touched the passive twice in its first year and then left it alone. Funny enough, enchanter balance over those two years happened almost entirely on the champions and the legendary items, not on this one, which is how a quest item should behave. The LoL items database lists the current numbers on the other four upgrades if you want them side by side.
When should you take it?
The moment the quest completes on an enchanter, and preferably you decided that in champion select. Still unsure whether your champion counts as an enchanter or a utility mage? The champion pages describe each kit, and the guide to LoL roles lays out what the support position is for, which is the context in which Dream Maker stops being one icon among five and becomes the obvious click.
FAQ
How much does Dream Maker cost?
Nothing beyond the 400 gold World Atlas. The upgrade is free once the support quest is complete, and the item sells for 160 gold.
What stats does it give?
200 Health, 75% Base Health Regen, 75% Base Mana Regen and an income of 9 gold per 10 seconds.
How do Dream Bubbles work?
Healing or shielding another ally gives them Dream Bubbles for 3 seconds. Their next attack deals bonus magic damage on hit, and the next damage they take is reduced.
Does it trigger on self-shields?
No. The passive requires the heal or shield to land on another ally.
Does it include wards?
It does. The active holds 4 invisible Stealth Ward charges that refill at the fountain.
Can tanks use it?
They can, but a tank rarely heals or shields allies, so Celestial Opposition is the better fit for most of them.
