Gold efficiency = stat value ÷ item cost = 1058 ÷ 400 = 265%. The gold per point comes from basic items of the same patch (for example, Long Sword: 35 g per Attack Damage). Passives and actives are not counted, and neither are Gold Per 10 Seconds (no basic item sells this stat alone).

We compare cost and stats patch by patch in Riot's Data Dragon files. "Effect text changed" means the passive or active wording changed in that patch.

Solstice Sleigh is the crowd control upgrade of the World Atlas in League of Legends: 200 Health, 75% Base Health Regen, 75% Base Mana Regen and 9 gold per 10 seconds in patch 26.21, with the Going Sledding passive, which heals you and a nearby ally and gives both of you 20% decaying Move Speed for 2.5 seconds whenever you slow or immobilize an enemy champion near your team. It also carries the standard ward active with 4 charges. The price is the 400 gold Atlas you started with, nothing more.

    What does Solstice Sleigh do?

It rewards the thing you were already doing. Slow, heal, run. Land a slow or a root on an enemy champion with an ally nearby, and the Sleigh restores Health to you and the closest teammate and speeds both of you up by 20%, decaying over 2.5 seconds.

The heal is the sneaky part. Riot’s data text gives no number for it (the tooltip in game lists a flat amount that grows with level), and over a long lane it adds up to a surprising chunk of sustain for a champion who was never meant to be a healer. Who gets the most out of it? Supports with cheap, repeatable crowd control: a Nami who bubbles every wave, a Janna with a Zephyr slow on cooldown, or a Morgana who lands a binding twice a minute. The speed boost, to be fair, matters more in the mid game, when a slow on a retreating target lets you and your marksman chase it down together. Thing is, you need to be close to an ally for any of it to work, so a support who roams alone gets a worse version of the item than one who sticks with the carry.

    Is it gold efficient?

At 265% it is one of the most efficient items in the shop, and that figure ignores the passive and the income. The breakdown is 200 Health, 75% Base Health Regen and 75% Base Mana Regen, worth 1,058 gold together, for an item that cost 400 gold on the first screen of the game.

All five quest upgrades share that number exactly (same Health, same regen, same income), so efficiency is not how you choose between them. Look at the passives instead. Nothing else differs. The Sleigh wins when your crowd control is frequent; it loses to Celestial Opposition when you mostly stand in front of your carry and soak, and to Dream Maker when your main button is a shield or a heal rather than a slow.

How do you get Solstice Sleigh?

Through the support quest. Buy a World Atlas before the first wave, earn the quest gold by damaging enemy champions and by being next to minions your laner kills, and once it completes, the shop lets you turn the Atlas into one of five finished items at no charge. Pick the Sleigh and the slot is settled for the game (there is no going back, and yes, people still ask whether they can swap later). It builds from nothing, builds into nothing, and sells for 160 gold if you ever need the slot, which you will not.

    Who takes it?

Supports built around slows and roots, which is a longer list than it sounds: Nami, Janna, Lulu, Morgana, Zyra, Neeko, Ashe and Senna when played in the role, plus engage tanks such as Nautilus or Leona who want the chase speed after a hook or a stun. Enchanters whose crowd control is incidental, say a Soraka with only a silence, do better with Dream Maker. Pure damage supports with no slow at all, like Brand, lean toward Zazzak’s Realmspike. Do engage supports lose anything by taking the Sleigh over Celestial Opposition? A little durability in the dive, in exchange for the heal and speed that help the carry follow up, and most of the time that trade favours the Sleigh if the carry is competent.

How has Solstice Sleigh changed over the patches?

Only three entries since it launched in patch 14.1 with the rest of the quest line:

    • Patches 14.2 and 14.21: Effect text changed, with adjustments to how Going Sledding reads and triggers.
    • Patch 26.1: income buffed, from 5 to 9 Gold Per 10 Seconds.

Put simply, the Sleigh has been left alone. Its Health and regen are unchanged from launch, and the one real buff was to the income, which went up for every support upgrade at once at the start of the 2026 season. Funny enough, that quiet history is itself a sign: an item that gets no nerfs for two years is one Riot considers correctly tuned, or at least not worth the patch notes space. The LoL items database tracks the other four upgrades alongside it if you want to compare.

    When should you choose it?

When the quest completes and your kit has a slow or a root you press every trade. Decide before the game starts, since the choice is final. If you are still working out whether your champion is a crowd control support or an enchanter at heart, the champion pages describe each kit, and the guide to LoL roles explains what a support is expected to do in lane and later, which is the context that makes Solstice Sleigh the right or wrong pick.

    FAQ

How much does Solstice Sleigh cost?

No extra gold. It is a free upgrade of the 400 gold World Atlas once the support quest is done, and it sells for 160 gold.

    What stats does it give?

The shared quest block: 200 Health, 9 gold per 10 seconds, and 75% of your base Health and Mana Regen on top.

    How does Going Sledding work?

Slowing or immobilizing an enemy champion while an ally is nearby restores Health to you and that ally and grants both of you 20% decaying Move Speed for 2.5 seconds.

    Does it include wards?

Yes, 4 charges of invisible Stealth Wards on the active, like every quest upgrade.

Does the passive trigger without an ally nearby?

No. The heal and speed need a teammate close to you, so it is weaker for supports who roam alone.

    Which supports should skip it?

Those without reliable slows or roots. Shield-based enchanters prefer Dream Maker, and front-line tanks who soak damage prefer Celestial Opposition.
