Milio ARAM Build and Guide
Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.
A Milio ARAM build stacks Heal and Shield Power and Ability Haste, because every spell he owns except one lands on a teammate. The Howling Abyss trims him a little. His healing is set to 95% and his shielding to 90%, while his damage is untouched. Five allies standing in one lane still make his kit unusually efficient.
What follows is our reading of his patch 26.21 ability text against the current item shop. No win-rate tables, just the kit.

How is Milio changed in ARAM?
| ARAM modifier | Milio |
|---|---|
| Healing | 95% |
| Shielding | 90% |
Two nerfs, both small. Cozy Campfire and Breath of Life heal for 5% less than on Summoner’s Rift, and each Warm Hugs shield is 10% smaller. Damage dealt and damage taken stay at their normal values, so Ultra Mega Fire Kick and the Fired Up! burn hit exactly as hard as they do in ranked. Is a tenth off the shield a big deal? Not really (it’s two charges of it, after all), and the bigger change for Milio is the map itself: nobody can walk away from his campfire to farm a side lane, because there is no side lane.
Why does Milio fit the Howling Abyss?
Because the Abyss keeps his whole team within reach of his spells for twenty minutes straight. Here is what Riot’s ability text gives him:
- Fired Up! (passive): his abilities enchant allies on touch, and their next damage deals a burst of extra damage and burns the target.
- Ultra Mega Fire Kick (Q): a ball that knocks back the enemy it hits, then falls on them, damaging and slowing the area. Cooldown 10 seconds.
- Cozy Campfire (W): a zone that heals allies and increases the attack range of those inside, following the ally nearest the cast point. Cooldown 29/27/25/23/21.
- Warm Hugs (E): a shield thrown to an ally, plus a short burst of Move Speed. Two charges.
- Breath of Life (R): flames that heal every ally in range and remove crowd control effects from them. Cooldown 160/145/130.
Look at the ultimate first. On the Rift, Breath of Life often catches two allies in a skirmish; on a single lane where teams fight as five, it can cleanse an entire team out of a chain of stuns, and that is the play that wins ARAM fights. Funny enough, the campfire works the same way. Since it follows the ally nearest the cast point, dropping it on your ADC while the whole team stands in a clump means four people get the extra attack range at once. Short version? More targets per cast.
What should a Milio ARAM build focus on?
Heal and Shield Power first, Ability Haste second, Mana regeneration because there is no recall. Real talk, damage items are a trap on him: one damaging spell on a 10 second cooldown doesn’t justify them.
Moonstone Renewer is the first buy. Starlit Grace chains every heal or shield he gives to a second ally (excluding himself), for 30% of a heal or 35% of a shield, and with Warm Hugs on two charges that’s four allies protected for two button presses. It also brings 20 Ability Haste and 200 Health, which a support standing in a poke lane appreciates.
Second, Ardent Censer or Staff of Flowing Water, depending on who you’re feeding. Ardent’s Sanctify hands the shielded ally 25% Attack Speed and bonus magic damage On-Hit for 6 seconds, which is the pick when your team has two or more autoattackers. Staff of Flowing Water gives you and the ally 40 Ability Power and 15 Ability Haste instead, better for a team of mages. Both carry 10% Heal and Shield Power, and both trigger off Warm Hugs alone.
Third is Redemption, and on the Abyss it earns more than usual. Intervention restores Health to allied units in an area after 2.5 seconds and deals 10% max Health true damage to enemy champions caught in it. In a corridor where both teams stand on top of each other, the circle almost always hits someone on both sides. Mikael’s Blessing is the fourth pick when the enemy team leans on single-target crowd control: Purify removes crowd control debuffs (not Airborne or Suppression) from one ally, which covers you while Breath of Life is on its long cooldown. Against a team without much crowd control, Shurelya’s Battlesong and its 30% Move Speed burst for the whole team is the alternative, and Dawncore stacks Heal and Shield Power if the game drags on. Boots are Mercury’s Treads, for 30% Tenacity, because a stunned Milio cleanses nobody.
How do you play Milio on the Howling Abyss?
- Hold Breath of Life for crowd control. Using it as a heal when nobody is stunned wastes the cleanse for up to 160 seconds.
- Drop Cozy Campfire next to the ally who matters. It follows the one closest to where you cast it, so aim at the carry, not the tank.
- Spend Warm Hugs on poke. Two charges recover, so shielding a teammate who’s about to eat a skillshot costs very little.
- Kick divers off your carry. Ultra Mega Fire Kick knocks back the enemy it hits, which is your only peel without the ultimate.
- Stay inside the group. Every spell except the kick works on allies, and alone you have one 10 second cooldown to defend yourself.
How do shopping and Mark change things for Milio?
There’s no recall on the Abyss. The fountain shop opens only at the start and after each death, and apart from you, the relics scattered along the lane are the team’s sole source of healing. In practice, that makes Milio more valuable than most picks (you’re the reason your team doesn’t have to grab every relic), but it also means your Mana has to last. Moonstone Renewer and the Censer or Staff each bring a full Base Mana Regen bonus, which is part of why they come first. Don’t skip it.
The ARAM-only spell, Mark, is a snowball: land it on a champion and a second press carries you to them. Whatever pair you pick is locked in during loading, with no swapping later. On an enchanter whose job is to stand behind people, the snowball is mostly a way to follow a diving ally into the fight and land Breath of Life on the whole group, which is a decent trick, to be fair. For what it’s worth, many enchanter players take a defensive spell instead. Either works; a Flash-style escape keeps you alive, while Mark keeps you in range of the people you’re meant to be healing.
Is Milio good in ARAM?
Yes, with a slight discount. The 95% healing and 90% shielding modifiers shave a bit off his numbers, but the map hands him five allies in range of every cast, and Breath of Life is a team-wide cleanse on a mode where teams fight in one place. Honestly, the modifier matters less than whether your team has two people who autoattack for Ardent Censer to feed.
The picks that give him the most trouble are engage champions with several disables in a row, which our guide to who beats Milio lays out champion by champion. New to the support role? The roles explainer covers what an enchanter does. Full numbers for every item named here sit in the item database, and his cosmetics are collected on the Milio skins page.
So the Milio ARAM build in one line: Moonstone Renewer, then Ardent Censer or Staff of Flowing Water, then Redemption, with Mercury’s Treads and Breath of Life saved for the first big stun.
FAQ
Is Milio nerfed in ARAM?
Slightly. The League of Legends Wiki’s champion data for patch 26.21 sets his healing to 95% and his shielding to 90%. His damage dealt and damage taken are unchanged.
What is the best first item for Milio in ARAM?
Moonstone Renewer. Its Starlit Grace passive copies part of each heal or shield onto a second ally, which pairs with the two charges of Warm Hugs.
Ardent Censer or Staff of Flowing Water on Milio?
Ardent Censer when your team has autoattackers, since it grants Attack Speed and On-Hit magic damage. Staff of Flowing Water when your team is mostly mages, since it grants Ability Power and Ability Haste.
Does Breath of Life cleanse in ARAM?
Yes. It heals allies in range and removes crowd control effects from them, the same as on Summoner’s Rift. Only the healing amount is affected by his ARAM modifier.
How were these items picked?
By reading Milio’s ability descriptions for patch 26.21 next to each item’s passive. We don’t use win-rate statistics.
