Nami ARAM Build and Guide
Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.
A Nami ARAM build centers on Heal and Shield Power and Ability Haste so Ebb and Flow bounces more often and heals harder. Riot nerfs her in ARAM: 95% damage dealt, 105% damage taken, and healing at 90%. She’s still strong because grouped fights let her W bounce reliably and Tidal Wave can knock up the whole enemy team.
Nami’s items were chosen for how their effects stack with her heals this patch. We don’t use win-rate data.

How is Nami changed in ARAM?
| ARAM modifier | Nami |
|---|---|
| Damage dealt | 95% |
| Damage taken | 105% |
| Healing | 90% |
Three nerfs, zero buffs. Riot clearly thinks enchanter sustain is too good when there’s no recall to heal, so they cut Nami’s healing by 10% and made her squishier on top of it. The damage dealt reduction is the smallest hit, honestly, since nobody picks Nami for raw damage output.
Why does Nami’s kit fit the Howling Abyss?
In practice, one lane with ten players and nonstop fighting is Nami’s ideal playground, because every ability in her kit rewards the grouped chaos of the Howling Abyss.
- Surging Tides (passive) gives Move Speed to allies hit by Nami’s abilities. In a grouped ARAM fight, a single W bounce can speed up two teammates at once.
- Aqua Prison (Q) stuns enemies in an area, with a cooldown of 12 seconds at rank 1 dropping to 8 at max rank. Way easier to land when ten people are crammed into one lane with nowhere to sidestep.
- Ebb and Flow (W) bounces between allies and enemies, healing one and damaging the other. Everyone’s grouped in one lane in ARAM, so the bounces are more likely to connect.
- Tidecaller’s Blessing (E) empowers an allied champion for a short duration, making the ally’s basic attacks and spells deal bonus magic damage and slow the target. Put it on your AD carry right before the fight breaks out.
- Tidal Wave (R) knocks up, slows, and damages enemies across a wide area, starting on a 120 second cooldown. Allies it hits gain double the passive Move Speed. The lane is narrow, so it can hit multiple enemies.
Where does she struggle? She’s squishy, 105% damage taken makes her squishier, and if an assassin jumps on her she has only Aqua Prison and Tidal Wave to peel for herself. Your positioning is the difference between carrying fights and getting one-shot before you cast anything.
What should a Nami ARAM build focus on?
Healing power first, then haste and mana. Her W sits on a flat 10 second cooldown at all ranks, so stacking Ability Haste brings that down fast. Moonstone Renewer (25 Ability Power, 200 Health, 20 Ability Haste, 125% Base Mana Regen) chains her healing to a second ally automatically, which fits ARAM’s grouped fighting. Staff of Flowing Water adds 35 Ability Power, 10% Heal and Shield Power, 125% Base Mana Regen, and 10 Ability Haste. The real reason to build it: every time Nami heals or shields someone, both she and the ally get 40 Ability Power and 15 Ability Haste for 6 seconds.
Third item? Dawncore. It gives 45 Ability Power and 16% Heal and Shield Power, plus a passive that converts Base Mana Regen into even more Heal and Shield Power and AP (the math adds up quickly once you have two mana regen items). If the enemy team has heavy engage, swap it for Redemption (30 Ability Power, 15 Ability Haste, 10% Heal and Shield Power), whose active area heal after 2.5 seconds can swing ARAM fights.
For boots, Ionian Boots of Lucidity cost 900 gold and give 10 Ability Haste plus 10 Summoner Spell Haste. More stats for every item are in our LoL items database.
How do you play Nami on the Howling Abyss?
- Stand behind your frontline. 550 attack range means nothing when Nami melts the moment someone touches her.
- Bounce W off enemies, not allies. Starting the bounce on an enemy means the heal hits your ally second, and the ability damages an extra target along the way. To be fair, starting on a low-health ally is fine in emergencies.
- Save Tidal Wave for the teamfight. It’s a massive wave that can hit multiple enemies in the lane. Throwing it at one guy for poke is a waste of its long cooldown.
- E your carry before the engage, not during. Tidecaller’s Blessing lasts a short time. Late is wasted.
- Grab health relics on the map whenever you can, because there is no recall and Nami takes 105% damage in ARAM.
How do shopping and Mark change the plan?
You can’t recall to buy items in ARAM. The fountain is Nami’s only shop (at spawn and on each respawn), so pick the next item while the bubble’s still flying. Lane relics are her only refill between deaths.
Mark, the ARAM summoner spell, throws a snowball, and if that snowball connects Nami gets the option to dash straight onto the enemy it hit. On Nami, do you ever actually dash in? Almost never. The catch is she’s an enchanter with nothing to save herself once she’s in melee range, and flying into five enemies is a fast way to die. Throw Mark to scout for a dash opportunity, but don’t follow up unless you know it’s safe. Summoner spells are locked before the game loads and stay fixed for the whole match.
Is Nami good in ARAM?
She is. A champion who heals, stuns, buffs allies, and can knock up the whole enemy team has a place on the Howling Abyss no matter what Riot does to her numbers. Look, she depends on teammates who deal damage (she’s a support through and through), so a team of five enchanters is a rough time. But in a typical random comp, Nami’s healing and crowd control help keep the team alive.

FAQ
Is Nami nerfed on the Howling Abyss?
Yes. She deals 95% damage, takes 105% damage, and her healing is reduced to 90%, according to the League of Legends Wiki’s ARAM data.
What items should Nami build in ARAM?
Heal and Shield Power items like Moonstone Renewer, Staff of Flowing Water, and Dawncore. Redemption is a strong option when facing heavy engage.
Does Ebb and Flow always bounce in ARAM?
It bounces between allied and enemy champions within range. In ARAM, everyone’s packed into one lane, so the bounce is more likely to find a target.
Should Nami use the Mark dash in ARAM?
Throw the snowball, but skip the follow-up dash in most cases. Nami has nothing to get herself out once she dashes in, so it’s rarely worth it.
Is this build based on win rates?
No. Every claim here traces back to Nami’s patch 26.21 ability and item descriptions. We don’t use win-rate data.
