Fiddlesticks as a Star Guardian villain is one of those skin concepts that sounds insane until you see it and then it just makes complete sense. The ancient demon scarecrow as the cosmic horror threatening the Star Guardian universe. July 14, 2022 release during the Star Guardian Season 4 event. Augusto Quirino and West Studio did the splash. Fiddlesticks towering over corrupted star energy with that terrifying silhouette. Might be the most intimidating Star Guardian adjacent splash art ever produced. Loaded this into a jungle game the night it released and the loading screen splash alone had people typing in all chat.
Corrupted starlight on the scarecrow
The model reimagines Fiddlesticks as a Star Nemesis entity. Dark corrupted star energy running through his scarecrow frame. The usual hay and cloth replaced with cosmic horror elements. Glowing corrupted star core visible in the chest. The passive, A Harmless Scarecrow, creates effigies that look like corrupted star totems which is both cool and actually harder to spot in certain jungle areas because the color scheme blends differently than base.
Terrify on Q fears with corrupted star magic. Bountiful Harvest on W drains enemies with dark star tethers that look like corrupted Star Guardian transformation beams. The heal on W return has a dark pulse. Reap on E silences in a crescent with corrupted star slash effects. Crowstorm on R is the big one. Fiddlesticks channels and then blinks into the middle of a teamfight with corrupted starlight energy exploding outward. The channel sound with Star Nemesis effects is genuinely unnerving. Came out of a bush at baron with R active last weekend and our entire team jumped on voice chat. Four kills. The visual of corrupted stars raining down during Crowstorm covers so much screen space.
Nine chromas: Ruby, Citrine, Peridot, Sapphire, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Emerald, Pearl, Obsidian. The Peridot chroma shifts to green which makes Fiddlesticks look like a corrupted nature spirit. Obsidian goes full dark void which is terrifying on an already terrifying champion. Thing is, with 9 chromas you have genuine variety here and each one changes the corrupted star energy color which affects how all the abilities read in game. Kellen Goff’s Fiddlesticks voice applies. No new VO but his base voice lines are already some of the most unsettling in League so it works. New recall with corrupted star ritual animation. 1350 RP, available any time. Part of the Star Guardian Season 4 skinline alongside Star Guardian Kai’Sa, Akali, and the rest of that event’s roster.
Something worth mentioning is how the passive effigies interact with the Star Nemesis theme in practice. A Harmless Scarecrow places these corrupted star totems around the map and in certain jungle quadrants, specifically near blue buff and around the pixel brush areas, they blend into the terrain in a way that genuinely fools people. Had a game last month where the enemy Lee Sin walked past three of my effigies without pinging a single one. The corrupted star coloring makes them look like part of the jungle scenery if you are not paying close attention. Terrify on Q also has this detail where the fear icon above the enemy’s head shows a corrupted star instead of the normal fear symbol. Minor cosmetic touch but it sells the fantasy of being this cosmic horror entity that scares people with starlight gone wrong. The Bountiful Harvest tethers on W pulling health from multiple targets during a Crowstorm looks like dark stars draining the life force from everything nearby.
Peak Fiddlesticks skin design
Fiddlesticks has Surprise Party at Legendary for the meme factor and Dark Candy, Risen, and others at Epic. Star Nemesis combines the horror identity that makes Fiddlesticks compelling with a thematic universe that gives the horror context. At 1350 RP with 9 chromas this is exceptional value and probably his most visually impressive skin outside the Legendary tier. The R channel into teamfight visual is reason enough. (random aside: my jungle duo partner switched to Fiddlesticks specifically because of this skin and he’s been one-tricking it since season 12)
If you play Fiddlesticks jungle and you want the most impactful looking Crowstorm in the game, Star Nemesis is the clear pick. 1350 RP well spent for mains. The corrupted starlight R blankets teamfights in a way that no other Fiddlesticks skin can match visually.
