Star Guardian Seraphine

First game I loaded this up was around 3 AM on a Wednesday, couldn’t sleep after a loss streak. Locked in Seraphine support and the loading screen hit different. Not gonna lie, I expected another safe magical girl reskin but Star Guardian Seraphine actually surprised me. The whole vibe just clicks with her kit in a way that makes sense. Banger first impression.

What the skin actually changes

So the VFX are the real selling point here. Her passive notes get this sparkly star trail treatment that reads cleanly in lane, even during chaotic teamfights where you’d normally lose track of everything. The Q sends out this burst of pink and gold starlight that feels satisfying to land on poke. Played maybe 40 games with it in Diamond last season and the ability particles never got old, which says something because I rotate skins constantly.

W shield has this constellation effect spreading outward. Clean. Her E gets a similar star-themed overhaul, the slow zone shimmers in a way thats actually visible against most Rift terrain. Important for gameplay clarity honestly, some skins make her E blend into the ground and you lose track of the hitbox. Not here though.

The R is where it shines. Literal star wave rolling through your team, the charm extension feels more impactful visually than base. Could be wrong here but I think the projectile reads slightly larger even though it isnt. Just the VFX doing their job. The recall animation is new too, full magical girl transformation sequence with her stage platform turning into this star pedestal. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is standard for a 1350 RP Epic tier skin.

(Random aside: my duo partner who mains ADC genuinely started playing better when I used this skin because “the shields look cooler so I notice them.” Placebo is real.)

The Star Guardian line and release context

Star Guardian Season 4 dropped June 28, 2023. Late into the season 13 cycle. Forrest Imel and West Studio handled the artwork, they captured Seraphine’s energy perfectly in the splash. The pose, the familiar floating around her, the pastel palette. Portfolio piece for sure.

Star Guardian as a skinline is one of Riot’s most consistent. Been running since what, season 6 or 7? The formula works. Seraphine fits it naturally because her whole champion fantasy is already “performative magic powered by connection.” Kinda feels like she was designed with this skin in mind even though she launched with K/DA ties instead.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is my pick, the dark color scheme against the star particles creates this contrast that base doesnt have. Pearl runs a close second for the clean white aesthetic. Rainbow exists if you want to go full pride flag energy, but in my Diamond games I see Obsidian most often on other Seraphine players too. Shop has it, permanent availability, grab whenever.

Is Star Guardian Seraphine worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX package carries it. You’re not getting new voice lines or a model that transforms mid-game, but this is Epic tier and it delivers on that tier’s promise. New particles on every ability, new recall, solid splash.

Might be overthinking it but I think this sits in the top three Seraphine skins overall. Ocean Song exists and Graceful Phoenix exists, so the competition is real. Star Guardian wins on theme consistency though. The magical girl angle just works for her champion identity better than “beach DJ” or “elegant phoenix.”

Skip this if you dont play Seraphine at least semi-regularly. But for mains and one-tricks, been spamming this in ranked since it dropped two patches into season 13 and I keep coming back to it over the alternatives. Worth 1350 if you main Seraphine, simple as that. The Obsidian chroma specifically elevates it above what the base version offers. Played a game last Tuesday where my Kayn jungle was tilted and the only thing keeping bot lane together was good shields and the serotonin of watching star particles fly across the screen. Simple change – huge impact on how the champion feels to pilot. Top pick for Seraphine mains who want something that matches her fantasy without going overboard.
