Ocean Song Seraphine

First game I played with Ocean Song Seraphine was around 1 AM on a weeknight, queued up for a Diamond ranked game I had no business playing that late. Locked her in support, loaded into Summoner’s Rift, and the whole vibe shifted. The skin just feels like summer. Not in some forced marketing way but genuinely, the color palette and the water VFX on her abilities hit different from anything else in her catalog. Been running this as my default Seraphine skin since it dropped in June 2022 and I dont see that changing anytime soon.

What Ocean Song Seraphine actually brings

So this is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, which means new VFX, new recall animation, and a fresh model. Voice lines stay base. No new VO. Kinda feels like Riot put all the budget into the particle work here because the abilities look clean.

Her Q sends out these water-splash projectiles that ripple on impact. Pretty satisfying when you’re poking in lane. The W shield has this aqua shimmer that spreads across your team in a teamfight, and honestly it reads better than base Seraphine’s W visually. Easier to tell who got shielded. Her E fires off a wave of water that looks like an actual tide rolling forward. Good clarity.

The ult is where it gets interesting. That cascading wave of musical notes gets replaced with this rolling ocean current. Hit a 4-man ult in dragon pit last week and it looked gorgeous. The recall animation has Seraphine lounging on a pool float, which fits the whole beach party energy the Ocean Song line goes for. Simple change – huge impact on the skin’s personality.

The Ocean Song lineup and context

Ocean Song released June 9, 2022. Mid season 12. Jeremy ‘Jermu’ Anninos nailed the splash, the lighting on the water reflections is some of their best work. The whole Ocean Song skinline dropped as a summer event batch. Seraphine fits naturally into it because her whole champion fantasy already leans musical and performative. Beach concert energy.

Not sure if it’s just me but Seraphine feels like one of those champions Riot just gives better skin treatment to. Compare this to some of the skins other enchanters got that same year. Night and day. The Ocean Song line also included Yone and Nidalee and Zeri, but Seraphine’s version feels like the flagship of the set.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to for ranked because the darker tones read cleaner against the Rift and thats just practical. Amethyst shifts the whole skin into a purple mage aesthetic that works way better than it should. Rose Quartz is the cute pick if you want to lean into the pop star vibe harder. I’ve cycled through most of them over the past seasons and keep coming back to Obsidian. Shop has it permanently, so no vault anxiety.

Should you buy Ocean Song Seraphine?

Real verdict: if you play Seraphine in any capacity, support or mid or even the occasional APC game in bot lane, this skin is worth the 1350 RP. Been spamming this in Diamond for multiple seasons now and the VFX clarity alone makes it functional, not just pretty. The recall animation adds personality. The chromas give you options for months.

Could be wrong here but I think this might be the best value Seraphine skin if you factor in the chroma variety. 8 options means you basically never get bored. Real talk though, if you’re a Seraphine one-trick you probably already own this. For everyone else who plays her maybe 15-20 games a season, still worth it. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The backline peel gameplay looks better with ocean particles flying everywhere. Played maybe 200 games with this skin across season 12 and 13 and it never got stale. Top pick for Seraphine mains, easy recommendation.
