Ocean Song dropped summer 2022 and I remember thinking Riot finally cracked the beach episode formula. Pool Party had been carrying that vibe for years, but Ocean Song went a completely different direction. More music festival on the coast than pool noodles and water guns. Bright pastels, concert stage energy, waves and melodies mixed together. Not sure if it's just me but this line felt like Riot saw how well KDA and Pentakill performed and thought: what if we do that but make it a beach rave? Six skins total, five Epic and one Prestige. The aesthetic works better than it has any right to.

What Sets Ocean Song Apart from Pool Party

Kinda feels like people lump Ocean Song in with Pool Party because both have water and summer vibes. Wrong take. Pool Party is goofy, rubber ducks and sunscreen humor. Ocean Song is a whole different register. Think Coachella meets Atlantis. Every champion in this line looks like they're headlining a festival stage built on the ocean floor, with coral microphones and wave-shaped instruments woven into their designs.

The shared VFX across the line lean heavy into musical notes mixed with water particles. Abilities splash (literally) with teal and aquamarine effects, and theres these subtle eighth-note shapes embedded in the particle trails if you look close enough. The color palette stays consistent: soft teals, warm corals, sandy golds, and pops of bright pink. Its cohesive without being monotone.

Splash arts across the whole set tell a connected story. You can see the champions at what looks like an oceanside music festival, some on stage performing, others in the crowd vibing. Riot's art team clearly planned these as a unified set rather than slapping a theme on random champions. The water effects in-game have this crystalline quality that Pool Party never aimed for. Pool Party gives you a water balloon. Ocean Song gives you a tidal wave shaped like a treble clef.

Could be wrong here but I think what ties this line together better than most is the recall animations. Every Ocean Song recall involves some kind of musical performance element. Instruments materializing from water, stage lights, crowd surfing on waves. Small detail but it makes the skinline feel like a real event rather than just a texture swap with water splashes. In my Diamond games I notice these things because I'm staring at my screen for 35 minutes straight every match.

Best Ocean Song Skins Worth Your RP

Real talk though. Prestige Ocean Song Seraphine is the crown jewel of this line and its not even close. The Prestige version takes the base Ocean Song Seraphine and adds golden accents throughout. Her passive aura gets this warm amber glow layered over the aquatic effects. Played maybe 40 games of Seraphine with this skin back when it dropped and the E root visual is genuinely cleaner to read than most of her other skins. The golden microphone in her recall is a nice touch. Mythic tier so you needed the event pass grind or got lucky with Mythic Essence later on.

Ocean Song Ashe surprised me. Didn't expect Ashe to fit a music festival theme but they turned her bow into this wave-shaped instrument and her W volley looks like scattered musical notes hitting the water surface. Locked in this skin for a solid two weeks of ranked when it came out. The ult arrow has this satisfying splash effect on impact. At 1350 RP its solid value for what amounts to a complete VFX overhaul plus new animations.

Ocean Song Yone is the dark horse pick. Yone doesnt scream beach rave but the skin works because they leaned into the performer angle. His E spirit form gets these water trail effects that look clean in teamfights. The Q tornado becomes a wave. Been running this in ranked on Yone and the auto attack animations feel slightly different, smoother almost. (Random aside: my duo partner who one-tricks Yone says this is his second favorite Yone skin after Spirit Blossom, which is high praise from someone with 2000 games on the champ.)

Ocean Song Nidalee deserves a mention too. The spear becomes this coral trident thing and the cougar form gets aquatic VFX on pounce. Good skin. Not the best Nidalee skin ever made but fits the theme naturally. Her W trap in human form has little water puddle effects. For jungle mains who play Nidalee this is a clean option at 1350 RP.

Ocean Song Zeri rounds out the line. Honest take: its fine. Zeri's kit is inherently flashy so water effects on her Q bolts look cool enough. The ult especially pops with the ocean particles swirling around her. But Zeri has gotten better skins since then. If you main Zeri there are stronger choices. If you're a skin collector its worth having for the set completion.

The Champion Roster and Who Actually Fits

Six skins across five champions. Seraphine getting two versions (base Epic plus Prestige) makes sense because she's literally the music champion. Not gonna lie, Seraphine was made for this skinline. A singing mage at an ocean music festival. Thats the most natural champion-theme pairing Riot has done since Bewitching Morgana.

Ashe works better than expected. The frost archer reimagined as a water-based performer, trading ice for ocean waves. Thematically its a lateral move since both are blue and fluid. The kit translates well. Yone is the reach pick here, and I mean that in a good way. He brings an edge to a line that could've been too soft and poppy without him. Dude looks like the brooding guitarist at a beach concert.

Nidalee fits the athletic outdoor vibe naturally. Shes always been associated with the wild and the ocean is just another wilderness. The cougar form with aquatic effects is creative. Zeri slots in fine. Electric energy mixed with water, classic combo. Not the most inspired pairing but it works well enough in practice.

Who should Riot add if they ever revisit this line? Sona is the obvious answer, almost suspiciously absent from a music-themed beach skinline. Maybe just my experience but I feel like Nami would be literally perfect here. Water champion at an ocean festival. Come on. Janna too, wind and waves go together. And honestly Samira could rock the performer aesthetic with her style meter mechanic. Picture Samira shredding a guitar solo as she hits S rank. That writes itself.

Tier Breakdown and Value for Money

Ocean Song keeps it simple on the pricing front. Five Epics at 1350 RP each and one Mythic Prestige. No Legendary in the bunch, which is honestly the biggest missed opportunity. A Legendary Ocean Song Seraphine with new voice lines about performing on stage, full new VO, maybe dynamic music that evolves through the game? That would've been an instant buy for every Seraphine main on the Rift.

At 1350 RP each skin delivers what you'd expect from Epic tier. New models, new VFX, new recall animations, new SFX. Standard package. Nothing groundbreaking per skin but the consistency across the line is good. Every skin hits the same quality bar which isnt always the case with skinlines (looking at you, some of the weaker Crime City Nightmare entries).

Could be coping but I think the 1350 RP price point actually works here. Not every line needs a 1820 RP Legendary anchor. Ocean Song sells on aesthetic cohesion and summer vibes rather than one standout marquee skin. The Prestige version for Seraphine serves as the premium option for collectors. If you want to buy into the fantasy without going full whale, pick whichever champion you play most and grab that one skin. Ashe or Yone if I had to recommend just one. Maybe two. Been playing this game too long to pretend I have self control with skin purchases at this point.

Whole line dropped mid-2022. Season 12. I was grinding ranked around that time, hovering between Diamond 3 and Diamond 2 on the EUW ladder. The Ocean Song skins started showing up in my games within days of release. Saw more Ocean Song Seraphine than anything else that patch. Pretty sure everyone and their support duo partner bought it. Fair warning, the Prestige version is harder to get now since the event pass is long gone, so you're looking at Mythic Essence or rerolls if you want it in 2026.

Ocean Song Frequently Asked Questions

How many Ocean Song skins are there?

Six total. Five Epic tier skins at 1350 RP and one Mythic Prestige version. The line covers Ashe, Nidalee, Seraphine (with a Prestige variant), Zeri, and Yone. All dropped together in summer 2022 as a single event batch. Compact roster compared to bigger lines like Star Guardian but honestly thats not a bad thing.

What is the best Ocean Song skin?

Prestige Ocean Song Seraphine if you can get your hands on it. The golden accents over aquatic VFX look clean in game. For the standard 1350 RP options, Ocean Song Ashe is my pick. The W and R visuals hit different with water effects. Yone is a close second, especially if you main him in ranked. Personal preference obviously but thats my take.

Which champions have Ocean Song skins?

Ashe, Nidalee, Seraphine, Zeri, and Yone. Seraphine gets two versions since she has both the base Epic and the Prestige Mythic variant. Five champions, six skins total. Solid mix of roles: ADC, jungle, support/mid, ADC again, and mid/top. You can almost build a comp out of just Ocean Song skins if you stretch it.

Does Ocean Song have Legendary skins?

No Legendaries in this line. Everything sits at Epic (1350 RP) with the Prestige Seraphine as the only premium option above that. Feels like a missed opportunity honestly. A Legendary with new VO and evolving music would have been perfect for this theme. Maybe if Riot revisits the line someday they'll add one but I wouldnt hold my breath.

When did the Ocean Song skinline release?

Summer 2022, during season 12. The whole batch launched together as part of a summer event. Been a few years now and Riot hasnt gone back to the well with new additions. Could be a one-and-done line or they might bring it back some future summer. Hard to tell with Riot's skinline rotation these days.

Are Ocean Song skins worth buying?

If you main any of the five champions then yes, 1350 RP is fair for what you get. Complete VFX overhaul, new model, solid recall animation. Ashe and Yone are the strongest value picks. Zeri is the weakest of the bunch since she has better options now. For skin collectors the whole line is cohesive enough to justify grabbing multiple. Not gonna lie I own three of them.

Do Ocean Song skins have chromas?

Most of the Ocean Song Epics got chroma sets when they launched. Standard Riot chroma treatment for 1350 RP skins. The Prestige version doesnt get chromas since Mythic/Prestige skins never do. If you like the theme but want different color combos the chromas let you switch things up. Some of the alternate colors actually look better than the base palette in my opinion.

Will Riot make more Ocean Song skins?

No official word from Riot on expanding the line. Its been since 2022 with no new additions which isnt a great sign. But Riot has revived older skinlines before (look at Coven coming back strong). Summer themed lines tend to get revisited eventually. Sona, Nami, and Samira would all fit the vibe perfectly if they do come back to it. Take this with a grain of salt but I think theres a decent chance.
