First game I loaded into with High Noon Yone, my support typed “that skin is clean” before minions even spawned. Honestly not gonna lie, I had the same reaction when I previewed it in the shop. The whole cowboy gunslinger fantasy on Yone just works. Something about the duster coat and the revolvers where his swords should be – it hits a frequency that most Yone skins miss completely. Been running this in Diamond since it dropped March 2024 and I dont think I’ve gone back to any other Yone skin for more than a game or two.
What High Noon Yone actually brings to the table
This is a Legendary at 1820 RP, so you’re getting the full package. New voice lines, new VFX on every ability, new recall animation. Noshir Dalal voices the skin and the delivery is perfect for the gunslinger vibe. Gravel in the voice without overdoing it.
Q feels completely different. The stab animation has this dusty golden slash that reads cleanly in lane, and when you stack it to the tornado the wind-up visual shifts to something almost spectral. Like a desert phantom pulling a revolver. W shield pops with amber energy instead of the usual spirit blue. Subtle change – huge impact on how the ability feels mid-teamfight.
E is where things get interesting. The spirit trail goes from Yone’s base blue-white to a burnt orange that leaves tumbleweeds. I’m not joking, actual tumbleweeds on the Rift. When you snap back it has this gunshot crack sound effect that I think is the best single audio cue on any Yone skin. You know what surprised me? How satisfying it makes short E trades in lane feel. Pre-6 poke with E-Q-auto-snapback sounds like a full Western shootout.
R is the big payoff. Yone charges forward and the ult zone looks like a canyon cracking open with golden energy. Caught their Kai’Sa and Lux in a teamfight last Tuesday around 1 AM and the visual of both getting pulled into the ult zone was genuinely cinematic. The recall has him doing a coin flip with a bullet, very Red Dead energy. (Random aside: I set the recall as a clip on my Discord status for like two weeks straight because it looked that good.)
Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack animations are smoother than base Yone too. The two-sword cadence feels slightly different, more deliberate. Might be placebo from the visual changes but after maybe 150 games with this skin I swear the autos feel crisper.
The High Noon line and where this fits
High Noon is one of Riot’s legacy skinlines at this point. Been around forever. Yasuo got the original, and adding Yone to the same thematic line was the obvious play. Francis Tneh and West Studio handled the splash, they captured the standoff energy perfectly. Yone standing in a dusty street with both blades drawn, coat blowing. Clean composition.
Released March 20, 2024. Late season 14. The High Noon batch that patch was stacked, but Yone’s Legendary stood out from the Epic tier skins in the set. Permanent shop availability, so no vault anxiety.
6 chromas total. Obsidian is the one I keep coming back to because it turns the whole palette dark and the VFX contrast harder against the model. Tanzanite hits this purple mystic cowboy angle thats actually sick if you want something less conventional. Noonday is interesting too, blue and red split that gives off a sheriff versus outlaw duality. The rest are fine but those three carry the chroma lineup for me.
Should you buy High Noon Yone?
Real verdict: if you play Yone at all, this is the skin. Full stop. Been maining Yone with this since season 14 and I’ve tried cycling through Spirit Blossom, Dawnbringer, even the Battle Academia one. Keep coming back here.
1820 RP feels fair for what you get. New VO, full VFX overhaul, the recall, the sound design. The voice lines specifically add personality that base Yone lacks. There’s lines about the High Noon lore, about being a wandering spirit in the frontier, and they give Yone actual character beyond “azakana hunter.” Full Legendary price, earns it.
Maybe just my experience but I’ve seen this skin in probably 4 out of every 5 Yone games in my Diamond lobbies this season. It’s that popular. The one-tricks lock it in and never look back. If you’re climbing with Yone mid or occasionally flexing him bot lane, this is the cosmetic that makes the grind feel better. Skip the Epics, save for this one. The only scenario I’d say wait is if you already own Heartsteel Yone and genuinely prefer the music theme over the Western fantasy. Otherwise High Noon Yone is the Yone skin if you can only own one.
S-tier across the board. VFX, audio, model, chromas. Riot cooked on this release and it shows in the pick rate alone.
