First game I played with Inkshadow Yone was around 1 AM on a Wednesday, right after the patch dropped. Locked it in for a ranked game and immediately noticed the ink-wash aesthetic on his model. Felt different from every other Yone skin I’d used before. The whole vibe is this traditional East Asian brushstroke art brought to life on the Rift, and honestly it works better than I expected for a champion who spends half his time dashing through the backline.

What Inkshadow Yone actually looks like in game

The model swap is clean. Yone gets this flowing ink-styled outfit with dark tones and splashes of color that look like someone flicked a calligraphy brush across his armor. His swords have that painted quality to them, almost like they’re made of solidified ink rather than steel.

VFX is where this Epic skin earns its 1350 RP. His Q thrust leaves ink trails that dissipate like watercolor bleeding into paper. Not gonna lie, the third Q knockup tornado looks fantastic with the dark ink particles swirling around. W spirit shield has this brushstroke circle effect thats actually easier to read in teamfights than some of his other skins. E soul unbound creates ink splatter on the ground where you leave your body, and the snap-back trail is this gorgeous flowing ink ribbon.

R is the highlight. Blossom. The ult marker paints itself onto the ground like a calligraphy master doing a single decisive stroke, and the slash itself sends ink particles everywhere. Been spamming this in Diamond for a while and the R animation still catches my eye every time. (Random aside: I screenshot the R freeze-frame at least twice a week for my desktop wallpaper folder.)

New recall animation fits the Inkshadow theme. Yone does this meditative brush painting sequence. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but the skin doesnt really need it since the visual identity carries everything.

The Inkshadow line and release context

Inkshadow Yone dropped May 3, 2023. Mid season 13. Rudy Siswanto nailed the splash, capturing Yone mid-strike with ink exploding off his blades in every direction. The composition reads like an actual ink painting and honestly its one of the better splash pieces in Yone’s catalog.

The Inkshadow skinline pulled in a solid roster that patch. Yone fits the theme naturally since his whole fantasy already leans into that Eastern swordsman archetype. Where some Inkshadow skins felt like the concept was stretched to fit, Yone just slots right in. Could be wrong here but I think this is one of the strongest entries in the Inkshadow set alongside Yasuo’s version.

10 chromas total for this one. Obsidian goes full dark mode and reads incredibly well against the Rift’s green tones, probably my favorite. Inked chroma leans into a pale blue-green palette that feels the most “traditional painting” of the bunch. Tanzanite hits this deep purple that gives Yone an almost void-corrupted look, which is a cool contrast to the base skin’s warmer ink tones. Not listing the rest but there’s plenty of variety if you want to mix it up between ranked sessions.

Is Inkshadow Yone worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you main Yone this is an easy pickup. Shop has it permanently so no rush, but 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX package alone elevates it above most of his cheaper options. Played maybe 200 games with this skin across season 13 and 14 and I keep coming back to it over Spirit Blossom some weeks.

Might be overthinking it but I think the ink VFX actually make his Q and R hitboxes slightly easier to track visually, which matters when you’re trying to land the engage in a late-game teamfight. That ranked game where my Kayn inted three kills pre-6, I still managed to carry a fight at dragon pit because the R telegraph felt so intuitive to aim. Placebo? Maybe. But it felt real in the moment.

For Yone one-tricks specifically, this sits comfortably in the top three skins. The aesthetic is unique enough to stand apart from Dawnbringer and the battle academia vibes, and the ink theme gives Yone a more grounded, artistic identity instead of the usual flashy anime energy. Worth 1350 if you main Yone, skip if you already have two or three Yone skins and dont play him every game. Standard pricing, above-average skin.
