First time I saw High Noon Lucian load into my game, I stopped moving for a solid two seconds. Just stood in fountain staring at the model. The duster coat, the hat, the angel wings on the recall. This was back in late 2018 and I remember thinking Riot finally figured out what Lucian was supposed to look like outside of his base skin. Been maining Lucian on and off since season 5 and this is still the one I lock in when I want to feel like every auto attack matters.

What High Noon Lucian actually brings to the table

This is a full Legendary at 1820 RP so you get the complete package. New voice lines, new VFX on every ability, new recall animation. TJ Storm on the voice acting and honestly the delivery carries so much of the skin’s identity. The lines have this quiet western grit that fits the High Noon fantasy perfectly.

Q fires this golden light beam that reads way cleaner than base Lucian’s piercing light. Might be overthinking it but I swear the hitbox feels more readable to opponents too, which is both a blessing and a curse when you’re trying to poke in lane. W sends out a spectral hawk instead of the default projectile. Gorgeous particle work. The proc mark when you hit it glows with that warm amber tone the whole skin leans into.

E dash leaves behind a trail of golden dust. Quick detail but it makes your repositioning in teamfights look cinematic. Had a game last Thursday where I was kiting a fed Darius through river and my support said the dash trail looked like I was leaving afterimages. Small stuff but it adds up over hundreds of games.

The R though. The Culling. This is where High Noon Lucian earns its price tag. The ult channels twin golden revolvers with this heavy, percussive sound design that hits different from base. Every bullet has weight. Spammed this in Diamond during season 9 I think, and the ult sound alone made me feel like I was outputting more damage than I actually was. Placebo ADC confidence is real.

Recall animation has Lucian pulling out angel wings before ascending. Not gonna lie, its one of the better recalls in the game even now. The whole thing lasts just long enough to flex the emote without overstaying.

The High Noon line and where Lucian fits

Released August 30, 2018. Late summer, right before Worlds season ramped up. Kelly Aleshire nailed the splash. The composition with Lucian standing in front of that burning church is iconic at this point. You’ve seen it on loading screens a thousand times and it still goes hard.

High Noon as a skinline has grown into one of Riot’s biggest thematic universes. Lucian was part of the wave that turned it from cowboys into this whole angel vs demon western mythology. He’s on the angel side obviously. The lore connection with High Noon Thresh being the devil figure opposite him adds weight to owning both. Played against a High Noon Thresh duo once in bot lane and the thematic mirror actually made the lane feel like a movie scene.

7 chromas total if you want variety. Ruby swaps to a deep crimson that reads more like a demon hunter than an angel, which is a cool contrast. Pearl goes clean white and gold, very heavenly. The Mythic Chroma has that icy blue accent that stands out from everything else in the set. Rest are fine but those three are the ones worth caring about.

Permanent shop skin. Available any time. No vault nonsense, no loot exclusive gating. Just buy it when you want it.

Who should actually buy High Noon Lucian

Real verdict: this is the Lucian skin if you can only own one. Full stop. (Random aside: I’ve tried every Lucian skin at this point including Pulsefire and Project and I keep coming back to High Noon within a week.)

1820 RP feels fair for what you get. New VO, full VFX overhaul, one of the best recalls on any ADC, clean chromas if you want them. The sound design alone on Q and R justifies the Legendary price. Could be wrong here but I think this skin actually makes csing feel smoother because the auto attack animation has a slightly different rhythm that syncs better with the audio feedback.

The only knock I have is that some of the golden VFX can blend into Summoner’s Rift terrain during late game teamfights on the top side of the map. Specifically around baron pit where the lighting already skews warm. Not a dealbreaker, more of a “huh that Q was hard to track” moment maybe once every 15 games. Season 12 or 13 they adjusted particle brightness on a bunch of skins and High Noon Lucian benefited from that pass.

If you’re an ADC main climbing through ranked and you play Lucian even occasionally, this is worth the investment. Been daily driving this skin across three seasons now and it hasnt gotten old. The western fantasy, the voice lines, the ult sound. Everything clicks. Skip the 975 RP Lucian skins and save for this one. Best executed Legendary in the ADC pool and I will argue that in any thread.
