Masked Justice Lucian

First game I loaded this skin into, my duo partner asked me if Lucian got a sentai crossover. Honestly not gonna lie, that’s basically what happened. Masked Justice Lucian dropped February 20, 2025 and it leans hard into the tokusatsu superhero aesthetic. Helmet visor, armored suit, the whole package. Looked at the splash for maybe ten seconds before I locked in the purchase. No regrets.

How Masked Justice Lucian plays on the Rift

The new VFX carry this skin. Q fires out this sharp energy beam that reads way cleaner than base Lucian. You actually feel the impact when it connects in lane. W gets a stylized projectile that pops with a bright burst on contact, and the passive procs have this satisfying flash effect that makes every auto weave feel crisp.

E dash leaves behind a brief trail. Subtle change but it gives the whole kit more visual flow when you’re kiting in teamfights. Ult is where it gets good though. The Culling shoots out these rapid justice-themed projectiles and the whole screen around Lucian lights up. Been spamming this in Diamond for about two months now and the R animation alone makes it worth the 1350 RP. Not sure if it’s just me but the VFX seem slightly brighter than other Epic tier Lucian skins.

New recall animation has Lucian doing a full superhero pose. Strikes a stance, energy surges around him. Clean stuff. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but TJ Storm’s performance on default Lucian is already strong so thats not really a loss. The base voice works fine with the superhero vibe honestly.

(Random aside: my girlfriend saw the recall and now she calls Lucian “budget Power Ranger” every time I play him.)

The Masked Justice line and release context

Pandart Studio nailed the splash. The composition puts Lucian front and center in full hero mode, guns blazing, cape flowing. It captures the energy of the skin perfectly. The Masked Justice skinline dropped with a small batch in early 2025. Senna and Yone got Masked Justice skins too. Feels like Riot wanted a superhero universe line and honestly the concept fits Lucian better than most champions. The dual pistol vigilante thing writes itself.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to because the dark color scheme makes Lucian look like an antihero variant, which hits different in bot lane specifically. Tanzanite pulls off a deep purple that reads almost like a villain skin. Catseye goes bright gold and looks clean against darker Rift backgrounds. The rest are solid but those three stand out. Could be wrong here but I think Ruby might be the bundle exclusive.

Released late into patch cycle, maybe two patches before major midseason changes. Season 15 was already rolling. Permanent shop availability so you can grab it whenever. 1350 RP is standard Epic pricing.

Should you pick up Masked Justice Lucian?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic skin for Lucian mains. The VFX refresh on Q and R alone justify the price. I’ve played maybe 60 games with it since release, mostly in Diamond ranked, and the visual clarity is genuinely good. No distracting particles, no ability reads that confuse you in a teamfight. Everything is clean.

Where it sits in the Lucian skin ranking depends on your taste. High Noon Lucian is still the Legendary with full VO and animations. Project Lucian has the sci-fi crowd covered. But if you want something fresh that doesn’t cost 1820 RP, Masked Justice is the pick. Best value Lucian skin released in a while.

Skip it if you already own Arcana Lucian or Pulsefire, they occupy a similar “premium Epic” space. But if you main Lucian and been looking for something that feels modern without dropping Legendary money, 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The superhero fantasy is executed well and the chromas give you options for months. Locked this in for my ranked games last Tuesday around midnight and havent switched off it since. Top pick for Lucian mains this season.
