Arcane Undercity Vi

First time I saw Arcane Undercity Vi load in, I thought someone was running a custom skin. The whole vibe is so different from standard Vi that it took me a second to register. Scrappy. Raw. Like she crawled out of a Zaun alley five minutes ago and decided to queue up for ranked. Been maining Vi on and off since season 6 and this one caught me off guard in the best way.

How Arcane Undercity Vi looks on the Rift

The model is where this skin earns its keep. Vi’s gauntlets look improvised, bolted together from scrap metal and whatever she could find in the undercity. Not the polished Piltover tech you see on her base skin. Rough edges everywhere. The outfit matches the Arcane show version pretty closely, hoodie and all. Kinda feels like Riot actually cared about getting the details right for once.

VFX got a refresh here. Her Q charge-up has this gritty particle effect, more industrial than magical. The E proc hits with a satisfying visual punch that reads well in teamfights. Not gonna lie, the new recall animation is the highlight for me. She shadowboxes and it loops into this moment that just fits the character perfectly. Played maybe 40 games with this skin last season and the recall never got old.

Voice lines stay base, no new VO. At 975 RP thats expected. Standard tier pricing means you’re not getting a full rework of the audio, but the visual package carries it. The auto attack animations feel clean in lane, especially when you’re looking to engage on the backline after a gank. Simple change – huge impact on how the champion reads in game.

The Arcane tie-in and release context

Arcane Undercity Vi dropped November 15, 2021, right alongside the first season of Arcane on Netflix. The whole Arcane skinline came out as a batch and Riot was pushing the show hard. Jessica ‘OwleyCat’ Oyhenart handled the artwork and honestly the splash captures the undercity atmosphere better than most of the promotional material did.

The Arcane line includes a few other skins from the show cast. Vi’s version here leans into her pre-Piltover days. Before the enforcer badge, before the clean gear. Season 12 launch window I think, right around preseason. I remember locking this in during my Diamond promos that November and it felt like a good luck charm (sidebar for Vi mains specifically: the Q hitbox visual actually felt more accurate with this model, could be placebo though).

No chromas on this one. Zero. Which is a shame because a darker colorway would have gone hard. Legacy vault skin now, so you cant just grab it from the shop whenever. Hextech only these days or wait for a Legacy sale rotation. Seen maybe 5 of these in my games all season which is wild considering how popular the show was.

Should you pick up Arcane Undercity Vi?

Real verdict: 975 RP feels fair for what you get. The model is strong, VFX update adds value, and the recall is genuinely fun. Not sure if it’s just me but this skin makes Vi feel lighter somehow. More agile. Could be the slimmer gauntlet design messing with my perception.

If you’re a Vi one-trick climbing through ranked, this competes with Project Vi and Heartbreaker for best overall package. It lacks the voice filter and extra polish of those higher-tier options but the raw aesthetic hits different. Last Tuesday around 2 AM I was spamming Vi jungle in Diamond and alternating between this and Demon Vi. Keep coming back to Arcane Undercity. The scrappy underdog energy matches how Vi plays when you’re diving their carry in a late-game teamfight.

Worth 975 RP if you main Vi. Best skin for players who connected with the show version of the character. Skip it if you need new voice lines or chromas to justify a purchase. But if you can find it in the Legacy rotation or roll it from a chest, dont sleep on it.
