First time I locked in Arcane Last Stand Ekko was maybe two hours after it hit the shop. December 11, 2024, late season 14. Had just finished the Arcane finale the night before and honestly not gonna lie, the hype was real. Loaded into a ranked game around 1 AM, saw the splash on the loading screen, and it just felt different. Like Riot actually cared about getting this one right.

What the skin actually brings to the table

So this is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, which means new VFX and a new recall animation. Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Standard for the price point. But the VFX work here carries hard.

The Q timewinder has this gritty blue-white energy trail that feels heavier than base Ekko. Theres a weight to it. Not sure if it’s just me but the return hit on Q reads cleaner in teamfights, the particle contrast against the Rift is sharper than most of his other skins. W drops with a different color palette, muted blues and greys that match the Arcane aesthetic. The zone indicator still reads fine for the enemy team so no competitive edge, just visual polish.

E blink-dash keeps the scrappy energy. The particles on the dash trail look like they pulled frames straight from the show. Short burst of light on contact. Nothing dramatic but it fits. R is where I think they put the most work. The rewind effect has this desperate, last-stand feel to it. Fits the skin name perfectly. The chronobreak particles scatter with more debris, more chaos. Played maybe 40 games with this skin in Diamond and the ult still catches my eye every time.

Recall animation is solid. Won’t spoil the whole thing but it references the show in a way that Arcane fans will immediately recognize. Quick and clean, no filler. (Random aside: I actually timed it against other Ekko recalls and it feels slightly more cinematic, probably just the animation quality.)

The Arcane line and where this fits

Herbie Wang and Kudos Productions handled the splash art. They captured that final act energy from the show, battered and bruised Ekko standing his ground. The color work in the background sells the whole mood.

The Arcane skinline is one of Riot’s more unique catalog entries because its tied directly to the Netflix series. Not a fantasy theme, not a sci-fi AU. Just the show’s visual identity translated into League. Arcane Last Stand Ekko specifically pulls from the later episodes. Season 2 vibes. The outfit is torn up, the Z-Drive looks battle-damaged, everything screams finality.

One Paragon chroma available. Blue and purple shift that leans into a cooler palette. Decent if you want variety but the base skin colors already hit the mark for me. Been running base since December and havent felt the need to switch.

Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it from the shop whenever. Hextech only these days unless Riot brings it back for an event rotation. Could be wrong here but I think they might cycle it during future Arcane-related promotions. For now though, if you missed the window, you’re waiting.

Worth 1350 RP for Ekko mains?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic skin that rides the wave of the show’s emotional weight. If you watched Arcane and main Ekko, this is probably already in your collection. If you didnt watch the show, the skin still holds up on pure visual quality alone. The VFX are clean, the recall is good, the splash is top tier.

Compared to something like Pulsefire Ekko or Star Guardian Ekko, Arcane Last Stand plays it more grounded. Less flashy, more atmospheric. That ranked game last week where I dove their backline at dragon pit, the ult rewind looked cinematic. Could be coping but I swear I play better with this skin equipped.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Not the best Ekko skin full stop, that’s still a debate between this and Star Guardian depending on your taste. But for Arcane fans who been spamming Ekko in Diamond since the show dropped, this is the one. Biggest downside is the Legacy status. Riot locking a tie-in skin behind the vault after its event window is frustrating for late adopters. If you can craft it from Hextech, do it. Skip it only if you already have three Ekko skins in rotation and genuinely dont need another.
