First time I saw Demon Vi load in on the enemy team I thought it was a custom skin someone modded in. Sat there in champ select for a second like wait, thats official? The whole design felt so different from anything Vi had at that point. This was back in late 2015, season 5 I think, and most Vi skins were either cop themed or formal wear. Then Riot drops this demonic brawler out of nowhere and suddenly Vi mains had a reason to stop running Neon Strike every game.

What Demon Vi actually brings to the table

For an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, the VFX package here is solid. Vi’s gauntlets get this burning demonic energy treatment. Her Q vault breaker charges up with dark fire trailing behind, and when it connects you get this satisfying burst of red and black particles. Played maybe 30 games with this skin the first week it dropped and the Q impact alone sold me.

The W proc visual is subtle but present. Denting Blows stacks show with a slightly different color indicator. Not a huge deal but it reads cleaner than base in teamfights when you’re trying to track your three-hit passive on a backline carry. Her E is where the demon theme really shows though. Excessive Force sends out these dark energy shockwaves that feel heavier than the default. Might be overthinking it but the particles genuinely make the ability feel like it hits harder.

Ult is the highlight. Assault and Battery sends Vi flying at the target with a full demonic aura trailing behind her. The impact explosion has this deep crimson burst. Been running this in Diamond ranked for a while and I can tell you the R animation reads really well for your team. People react faster when they see that big red demon slam coming in.

New recall animation too. Vi does this whole power-up sequence where the demonic energy surges through her gauntlets. Clean stuff. Voice lines stay base though, no new VO. Kinda feels like a new voice filter would have pushed this skin from good to great, but for 1350 that’s standard.

The Demonic skinline and release context

Demon Vi released October 19, 2015. Deep into season 5. The Demonic skinline is one of those smaller thematic sets Riot has. Not as massive as PROJECT or Star Guardian but it has its own identity. Dark fantasy demons possessing champions, basically. Vi fits the concept naturally because her whole kit is about raw aggression and punching things into the ground.

No splash artist credited in the data for this one, which happens with some older skins. The splash itself is strong regardless. Vi standing in what looks like a hellscape, gauntlets blazing with demonic power. (Random aside: used this splash as my ranked lobby background for two seasons straight.) The color palette leans heavy into reds and blacks with some purple accents that give it depth.

No chromas available for Demon Vi. Zero. This surprised me honestly because the base color scheme could work with some variations. A blue frost demon version or a green fel-energy look would have been cool. But Riot never went back to add them. Is what it is.

Shop has it permanently. Not Legacy, not loot exclusive. 1350 RP any time you want it. For a skin from 2015 that’s still holding up visually in 2026, the accessibility is nice. Last Tuesday around 2 AM I watched a Vi one-trick on stream and they were still rocking Demon over newer options like PsyOps or Heartbreaker.

Should you pick up Demon Vi for 1350 RP?

Real verdict: Demon Vi sits in this weird spot where its not the flashiest Vi skin anymore but it might be the most thematically complete at this price point. PROJECT Vi exists at the same RP tier and has more tech-fantasy appeal. Heartbreaker Vi leans into the valentine aesthetic. PsyOps goes military. But if you want Vi to look like she could actually rip someone apart with her bare hands, the Demonic fantasy delivers.

Could be wrong here but I think this skin ages better than people give it credit for. The VFX are simple and readable. No visual clutter. When you’re diving the enemy ADC in a late-game teamfight you want clean particles, not a light show that obscures your cooldowns. Demon Vi gives you that.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on all abilities, solid recall, strong splash, cohesive theme. If you main Vi and you already own Neon Strike, this is the next pickup. If you’re choosing your first Vi skin and you like the darker aesthetic over the neon punk vibe, lock this in. Skip it only if you’re saving for one of the Legendary-tier options on other champs. For Vi specifically, Demon is top three and I been saying that since season 6.
