Miss Fortune ARAM Build and Guide
Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.
A Miss Fortune ARAM build is Critical Strike and Attack Damage on a champion the Howling Abyss hits hard: Miss Fortune deals 90% damage and takes 110% damage in ARAM. The nerf exists because Bullet Time is a cone of critical strikes and the Abyss parks five enemies in front of it. She still works. The items just have to carry more of the weight.
Four items follow, and we chose each one for how it interacts with her kit in patch 26.21. Statistics weren’t part of the choice.

How is Miss Fortune changed in ARAM?
| ARAM modifier | Miss Fortune |
|---|---|
| Damage dealt | 90% |
| Damage taken | 110% |
Two modifiers, neither a gift. She deals 90% of her normal damage here and takes 110% of what hits her, which is one of the heavier pairs of modifiers on the Marksman list, and both numbers point the same direction. A Bullet Time that would do 2,000 damage on Summoner’s Rift does 1,800 here, and every poke spell that reaches her lands 10% harder. Is that unfair? Not really. On the Rift she needs a teammate to set up the cone; on the Abyss the enemy team sets it up for her every time they walk down the lane together, so Riot charges her for the free positioning. What the modifiers don’t change is the shape of the kit, and the shape is still five enemies in a corridor and a 550 range champion who hits two of them with every Double Up.
Why does Miss Fortune fit the Howling Abyss?
Because three of her five abilities hit more than one target, and the map guarantees more than one target. Riot’s data for patch 26.21 describes them like this:
- Love Tap (passive): bonus physical damage whenever she basic attacks a new target.
- Double Up (Q): a bullet that damages an enemy and then a second target behind them, applying Love Tap on both. Cooldown 7/6/5/4/3 seconds.
- Strut (W): passive Move Speed while she isn’t attacked, and an active burst of Attack Speed. Love Taps reduce its remaining cooldown. Cooldown 12.
- Make It Rain (E): a flurry of bullets that reveals an area, deals waves of damage and slows. Cooldown 18/17/16/15/14.
- Bullet Time (R): a channelled barrage into a cone in front of her, dealing large amounts of damage, with every wave able to critically strike. Cooldown 120/110/100.
Picture the usual Abyss standoff, two teams poking at the edge of range. Double Up goes through the front liner into whoever stands behind, which on this map is always someone. Make It Rain lands on the clump and slows all of it. Then the fight starts, everyone pushes forward into the same narrow space, and Bullet Time has a cone full of targets who can’t spread out because the walls are right there. The catch is her own fragility: 110% damage taken, no dash, and a Strut that switches off the moment anything hits her. She either lands the big cone or dies walking into position (sometimes both, in that order).
What should a Miss Fortune ARAM build focus on?
Critical Strike Chance and Attack Damage, because Bullet Time’s waves can crit and Double Up scales with the same stats, plus one item that keeps her alive once the enemy team realises where the cone is coming from. Four items from the current patch cover that.
The Collector comes first on the Abyss. Its Death passive executes champions below 5% Health, and after a Bullet Time has chewed through a clump there are usually two or three people sitting right at that line. Taxes adds 25 bonus gold per champion kill, which matters on a map where you only shop after dying. Stat-wise it’s 50 Attack Damage, 25% Critical Strike Chance and 10 Lethality, and the Lethality is a nice fit for Love Tap’s flat bonus damage.
Infinity Edge is the second buy and the reason to build crit at all: 75 Attack Damage, 25% Critical Strike Chance and 30% Critical Strike Damage. Every wave of Bullet Time rolls for a critical strike, so bigger crits mean a bigger ultimate, and with the 90% modifier she needs that multiplier more here than on the Rift. Honestly, if the game is going badly and you can afford only one expensive item, make it this one.
Third is Lord Dominik’s Regards, because by the third item the enemy tanks have Armor. Giant Slayer is the point: up to 15% bonus damage against champions with bonus Health, reaching its maximum at 1500 of it, on top of 35% Armor Penetration, 35 Attack Damage and 25% Critical Strike Chance. Giant Slayer exists for the front liner that Double Up passes through.
Bloodthirster rounds it out with 80 Attack Damage and 15% Life Steal, and Ichorshield converts the extra healing from Life Steal into a Shield. On a map with no recall, a Marksman who heals through Love Taps on the minion wave between fights is a Marksman who doesn’t have to die to buy. Funny enough, that shield is often the only one she’ll see all game (enchanters are random too). Boots are Berserker’s Greaves for 30% Attack Speed, or Boots of Swiftness when the enemy has several slows, since Fleetfooted cuts them by 25% and she has no other answer to being slowed.
How do you play Miss Fortune on the Howling Abyss?
- Aim Double Up at the minion in front of the champion. The second shot hits the target behind, and on the Abyss someone is always behind.
- Ult from behind a wall of allies, never from the front. Bullet Time is a channel, she has no dash, and she takes 110% damage.
- Drop Make It Rain on the choke before the fight. It slows everyone in it, which lines them up for the cone.
- Protect Strut. The passive Move Speed only works while she isn’t attacked, so poke that would be harmless elsewhere costs her the one escape she has.
- Max Q. Double Up drops from a 7 second cooldown at rank 1 to 3 at rank 5, and the poke phase on this map rewards exactly that.
How do shopping and Mark change the game on the Howling Abyss?
Nobody recalls on this map, so the shop is a place you visit at spawn and after each death, with health relics along the lane standing in for the fountain between visits. For a Marksman that changes the item order in a specific way: the Life Steal from Bloodthirster, usually a fourth item, is worth moving up when the lane is poke-heavy, because she can’t walk home to heal and relics don’t appear on demand. In practice, buy the Vampiric Scepter component early and finish the crit items around it.
Mark is the ARAM-only summoner spell. It throws a snowball, and if the snowball hits a champion you can dash to that champion. You lock in summoner spells before loading, so there’s one decision and it comes early. On Miss Fortune the snowball is not an engage tool, it’s a trap: dashing forward with a champion who has no way back and takes 110% damage is how most of her deaths happen. Take it anyway? Sure, for the chase on a fleeing enemy, or to follow a kill when the fight is already won. Just don’t open with it.
Is Miss Fortune good in ARAM?
Yes, with the biggest asterisk on the Marksman list. The 90% damage and 110% damage taken modifiers are a real tax, and the kit still has no dash, no shield and a channelled ultimate. Against that, Double Up and Make It Rain poke two or more people at once from 550 range, and Bullet Time into a lane-wide clump is a team fight by itself. How many times she channels from a safe spot decides the match, and that, to be fair, is on you rather than the champion.
The picks that give her trouble (anything that dodges or destroys projectiles) are covered in our Miss Fortune counters guide. Unsure what a Marksman does? The guide to LoL roles covers it. Item prices and patch history are in the LoL items database, and her skins are on the Miss Fortune skins page.
Long story short, the Miss Fortune ARAM build is The Collector, Infinity Edge, Lord Dominik’s Regards and Bloodthirster, and the plan is to poke with Q through the front line, slow the choke with E, and ult from somewhere nobody can reach.
FAQ
Is Miss Fortune nerfed in ARAM?
Yes. Her patch 26.21 entries in the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data read 90% damage dealt and 110% damage taken.
What items does the Miss Fortune ARAM build use?
The Collector, Infinity Edge, Lord Dominik’s Regards and Bloodthirster, with Berserker’s Greaves or Boots of Swiftness for boots.
Can Bullet Time critically strike?
Yes. Each wave of Bullet Time can critically strike, which is why Infinity Edge and Critical Strike Chance items matter so much on her.
Does Miss Fortune have an escape?
No dash or blink. Strut gives passive Move Speed while she isn’t attacked and an active burst of Attack Speed, and that is the only mobility in her kit.
Were the items picked by win rate?
No. We matched what each item does in patch 26.21 against Miss Fortune’s abilities. Win-rate data wasn’t used.
